Luke blinked as he was approached by a girl with a Scottish accent. He frowned a bit, trying to think if he recognized her from somewhere. Then it hit him. She was a prefect at Hogwarts. Well then. It wasn't like he liked causing trouble, but this opportunity was too much to turn up. His mind quickly went through some things he could do and settled on one major thing he could do. He smiled at the girl, looking at the pets offered. "I was looking for a pet for school, and I'm not sure what I should get. I mean, should I go with one that's common like a cat or a rat, or something more unusual? Also, how exotic do the pets here get? Is it possible to get a hippogryff or a unicorn here, or are those specialty pets? And what would I need to feed them? Are there specific dietary needs for them or not? And how long do they live?" He thought that would be his prank for the day, being the impossible customer. If nothing else, if she managed to keep up with him, it would make for an interesting time.

Nell blinked at the onslaught of questions from the young boy before a wide grin split across her face. This boy was speaking her language! "Well, as far as exotic pets go I've notice that they have dogs, snakes, and spiders, I'm pretty sure I saw a turtle heating lamp near the front so they probably have some of them too and I heard that they also sell squirrels which is the coolest thing ever! And rats aren't that bad, I've got a hamster named Harriet who had babies, which by the way were the cutest, and I know that on the list of approved pets they allow rabbits but I can't see you as a rabbit sorta guy no offense. Unfortunately they don't sell hippogryffs or unicorns for reason of course. One, unicorns are wild and its an atrocious thing to try and sell and domesticate on and while I have heard about domesticated hippogryffs I'm pretty sure Hogwarts won't let you have one without good reason. And of course they have special needs, diet or otherwise! Hippogryffs mainly eat insects, small birds and mammals and are intensely proud so proper etiquette is needed. Unicorns on the other hand are a speculation but its assumed that they eat mostly delicate foods like fern shoots, soft mosses, herbs, flowers and tender young leaves. They're normally rather skittish around humans, especially males so I suppose its a no-go on the Unicorn as well. Anything else that might tickle your fancy?" Nell spoke with enthusiasm and without faltering once finding her niche happily and staying in it. Poor boy had no idea what he was in for.

Siobhan blinked. Muggle post or the phone. Why hadn't she thought of that? She chuckled after a moment, shaking her head at herself. "I could call you, couldn't I? That would be much easier. Sorry I didn't think of it. Never used muggle post before, so I wouldn't know how to go about that, but I've certainly use a phone before. Erm... here!" Siobhan indicated the ledger's column for 'special instruction,' still rolling her eyes at herself. "Leave the phone number here, and I'll call you as soon as the beds come in!" Siobhan could hardly believe she'd been so silly. But, before she could do anything else, she heard the young man, asking Nell all sorts of questions about unicorns and hippogriffs. Her eyes narrowed, and she glanced back at Mrs. League, smiling. "I think I'll need to keep an eye on those two, now. Erm... I think that's everything, in any case. So, write down the number, then we can handle the payment... then you'e free to look around or leave or whatever suits your fancy, I suppose!" Siobhan's tone was oddly cheerful, her eyes trailing to the two teens. She had a feeling the young man was something of a troublemaker. But, Nell seemed to be handling it all just fine.

Unraveling and reeling, think I'm wise.
Our freedom can be deadly.
Kimberly was glad to get out of the house, even just for a few hours. Maybe that was why she was hoping to get a job at one of her favorite shops. To escape the place for hours a day and do something she enjoyed. She pushed the door to the Magical Menagerie open and stepped inside, hearing all the noises of the living creatures that were waiting for their forever homes. Kim walked past many cages housing various birds, some with mice and other critters as she made her way to the desk to pick up an application form. She plucked a quill from the vase and began to scribble her information on the parchment. When she was finished she placed the quill back in its vase and waited silently for the shop owner to arrive. She assumed the owner knew someone was in the shop via the bell from the door and was simply busy at the moment. As she waited her eyes scanned the shop once more, resting on a cage nearby with a parrot in it. She smiled as she noticed it curiously looking at her. Kimberly took a step closer to the cage and began to whistle the tune from a song for its consideration.

He'd been working for several days, and when his wife informed him that Todd had wandered off last time she'd taken him shopping. He decided he would take his son around and perhaps teach him not to run off alone. Todd had been seeming to be regressing back to a younger state. He was almost four years old, and still could barely feed himself. Something was wrong, more than likely, but the man didn't want to admit it to himself. Todd, however, was smiling brightly. There were so many animals in here! He tugged at his dad's pant leg, using his other hand to flail at some owls. "Gnnh!" He tugged his dad harder, but the man didn't budge. He finally gave up and let go, then started to waddle toward the birdies. Unfortunately, his feet were very easy to trip over, and the toddler went sprawling. The Magical Menagerie.
Pushing open the doors of the place, a smile formed on the quiet boy's face as the familiar sights and scents hit him again. The Magical Menagerie was a favourite haunt of his, mainly because there were so many animals. He managed to exit the house again today--- not that his doing so was particularly an issue, but he did so without anyone muttering anything about him hopefully never coming back again or being involved in an accident that would hopefully delay his returning back to the Tempest estate. Even better was that he hadn't been caught by his uncle at all. Peeking in, Ava spotted a few people around. Smiling at the tiny blonde boy sitting on the counter, Ava gave a small wave before he made his way towards one of the cages, slipping his fingers through the bars and holding them out. It was a new owl, just a normal barn owl, but very beautiful with its black, brown-speckled coat. After being pecked at a few times, he was, eventually, allowed to stroke the nocturnal avian. He was a bit preoccupied with him--- he had to draw it later on, it really was a majestic creature--- but not too preoccupied to not hear the light thump that sounded near him. A small child lay sprawled on the floor and his father, assumedly, stood near, not doing anything. He was looking at the boy, though. Maybe he wanted him to learn?
Well, his parents had sort of done the same thing to him.
Crouching down, Ava smiled at the little boy and held his hands out, silently encouraging him to stand up and try to walk again.
Hopefully he wouldn't be told off, or something of the sort.

Rhys blinked as he saw a boy younger than him fall over. He then looked at the father, wondering why he wasn't even helping him out. Even Daddy Ciaran and Daddy Aedan tried to help him as much as they wanted to, though he preferred it when Kenny helped him. Which, come to think of it, Kenny wouldn't be around for most of next year. Rhys looked from the boy to the father, and then sighed. Hopping down from his chair, he walked over, making sure his book was safely on the chair. He'd seen what little kids did to books, even if they were just looking. Crouching down, he noticed another boy also near the toddler, and blinked at him. He gestured for the toddler to stand up, giving a small smile. Well, maybe he would. Rhys wasn't sure, since he rarely spoke, and didn't feel like speaking at the moment. He only hoped the boy would understand that he should get back up.

Dark green eyes looked back to the younger Nolynn. Todd had managed to roll himself onto his back, an exciting feat. In his upside-down vision, he saw two other kids, which was even more exciting. He flailed happily, a squeal coming from him. After a while, Charles felt that his son had quite given up on trying to return to his feet. "Todd, what am I to do with you?" He lifted his son gently, returning him to his feet. Todd squeaked again, them gave a little round of applause for his daddy. He turned his dark brown eyes on the other kids, then gave a rather enthusiastic wave, nearly sending him tumbling back to the floor. ϟ'Cause you'll be in my heartϟ ϟYes, you'll be in my heartϟ ϟFrom this day onϟ ϟNow and forever moreϟ |

It was officially her first day on the job and already the shop seemed be becoming busy. A few of Siobhan's relatives had already been in the shop, a young boy who seemed more interested in reading his book than the animals around him while in contrast her daughter was eager to help around the shop. Last she had seen the girl she was rearranging items as she thought they should go. It was cute. A couple customers came in, one boy, looking about the age to be in Hogwarts and then a father and his son. At least, she was assuming it was his son. The son seemed to be interested in all the attention his little tumble took before his attention turned to the other two kids in the shop. She smiled and walked over to the group.
"Hello! May I help either of you find your new companion animal? Or are you looking for supplies today?" They were all over by the owls, so she was going to guess that's what they were looking for, but, she could be wrong. Owls weren't for everyone, even if that's what they thought they wanted initially.

Ava let out a quiet laugh and waved back at the little brunette, still crouched down on the floor. Lifting him up off the floor slightly, Ava turned the miniature brunette around and gently nudged him him towards the other, smaller blonde and the little girl that had come about. They were so adorable, really.
Turning to the lady who had approached them, Ava nodded. "Not a companion animal," he smiled sheepishly--- he had enough animals at home, thank you very much. "Just a few supplies. Owl treats, a few rolls of bandages, ointment, painkiller and sedatives." There were more than a few broken bones around the estate owing to the presence of the more vicious of them in the household itself, so he frequented shops like this for supplied more often than not.
