GM Post:

Lilly, as you concentrate on the blade of the knife and touch your red light, both begin to glow a brighter red.

The glow on the blade fades quickly, but then the blade itself seems to change color.

It goes from a dull brownish gray to a red color... then orange... then bright yellow... and the metal turns to slag, liquifying and dripping to the floor, the droplets sizzling and burning holes through the wood.

Give me an Easy roll (4+ on 2d6) to not get any on your hand or feet. Your red light remains bright as you are holding a plastic handle with a smoldering end, with wisps of steam rising from it.

Terei, sure, I'm feeling generous. You can have your bleached skull. It's definitely human, and doesn't appear to be fully formed. It's tiny, and can fit in one opened hand.

What in the-!?

Lilly let out a squeaky yelp that echoed through the entire cabin as she dropped the handle and jumped back to avoid getting splashed by a quite literally melting knife. That... was a bit more than fire... and put an abrupt end to the other half of her idea, but it was still a very interesting discovery. Assuming that wasn't the only time she could use it, being able to heat something that much sounded incredibly useful for fighting off a homicidal shapeshifter. Gruesome and unnerving as the thought was, flesh did have a lower melting point than steel. Sadly it was a bit too extreme for drawing blood, so she was back to square one on discovering the Ibnupy's stolen identity.

Kyt jumped as it felt like the card was tugged from her grasp, staring at her suddenly empty hand. "What the....." The clatter caught her attention, and she dropped to the floor, trying to peer under the crack. "This is starting to feel like more trouble than it's worth....." The brunette probably wouldn't admit it if asked, but she was getting more than a bit creeped out by everything going on. Cards just didn't fall through door jambs like that.

If she saw the card through the crack, she'd aim her fingers towards it, but otherwise she'd grope around the edges, figuring if she couldn't see it, it might still be near the corner.

If she didn't find it in a couple seconds, Lilly's shreik would make her jerk her hand back in surprise, scrambling to her feet to figure out what had happened.

Kyt, you see the card, you think your fingers are long enough where you MIGHT just be able to reach it.

You also see the bottoms of a pair of black work boots just on the other side of the door. Whomever might be wearing them shifts in their position slightly.

Vash jumped when the girl in the kitchen area shrieked. He jumped again when the girl with his card shrieked. Vash shrieked. It seemed like the thing to do at a time like this. The young man walked over, and noticed a lack of Subway card in Kyt's hand.

"Hey, uh... where'd my card go? Did you lose it? You totes owe me a six-inch sub if you did..."

Terei would gingerly pick up the skull, wondering how it got there in the first place. Oh well. It's not that it was all that important.

She walked into the main room after hearing the girls scream. "W-What's wrong? Did something happen?" One look towards either girl told her what she needed to know.
Terei sighed. "Can we go two minutes without breaking something? Please?"

She grumbled to herself, before going to the only other door that she knew was unlocked. There better be something in there that they could use, because things seemed like they were going downhill fast.

She slowly opened the door, trying to occupy herself while the others were trying to endanger themselves.

GM Post:

You open the door across from where Kytana was kneeling, and it opens up into an occupied bedroom. There is an uncovered mattress, barren of any sheet or pillows resting upon a rickety black steel frame. The mattress itself has grayed over the years.

There is an armoire here, slightly ajar. It is old and dusty, but the carvings in the wood make it appear more as an antique than any old actual furniture.

On a small table at the corner of the room, a black rotary phone sits, coated in dust.

The ceiling light has been torn off, and a few wires hang loosely from the hole.

The wallpaper apparently used to be white, but age and various stains of unknown origin have tarnished the quality.

Everyone else, Terei walks out of what looks like a bathroom with a tiny skull nestled in her hand. NOT SUSPICIOUS AT ALL.

Kyt had just barely gotten a glimpse of the shoes, eyes widening, before the scream had happened and she'd stood up again. Vash's comment earned him an annoyed glare as she tried to calm herself down. "Dude, I'll buy you sandwiches for a month if we get out of here alive."

"And I didn't break anything!" She called after Terei, pointedly ignoring the skull in the other girl's hand. Seriously, if she started freaking out about everything that was happening, she'd end up a gibbering wreck on the floor.

Then the brunette remembered what she'd seen under the door crack. Gesturing at the others to catch their attention, she motioned to the door behind her, lifted one foot to point at her shoe, then exaggeratedly walked back and forth in front of the door. Sure, she hadn't actually seen them walking, but she'd seen them move and it was the best way to gesture she'd seen an actual person rather than just a pair of shoes.

"Sorry!" she called out in response to the reprimand before looking back down at the smoldering pool of steadily cooling liquid metal and mumbling to herself, "'s not like anybody actually expected these lights to work..."

Kyt's gestures successfully caught her attention, but the strange miming was completely lost on her. She could tell by the girl's expression that something was wrong, and by the sudden silence that she probably shouldn't talk either, but beyond that she wasn't all that great at charades. All she could really do was give an apologetic frown and shake her head.

Terei looked at Kyt's gestures and nodded to show she understood. She had no intention of going over there, in case the person proved dangerous, but she was ready to help from afar if the need arose.

That armoire, though. Terei's looting instincts were starting to kick in again. In all games she had ever played, she made sure to check for items and take them if she could.

She slowly, and as quietly as she could, opened the door of the armoire.

Treasure?

*clap clap*

You open the armoire, unsure what sort of treasure or horrors await you, with naught but your tiny skull to defend you from your nightmares!

However, within, hung a few empty hangers, and that was it. There was absolutely nothing of note about this piece of furniture.

"Well, that was.....anticlimactic...." Terei would mumble, still taking a coat hanger anyways.

She walked back over to where Kyt was, handing the girl the newly obtained tool.
"Better safe than sorry, right?" She whispered.
She held up her other find, the skull, to show Kyt.
"Do you think this would make a good weapon, in case this turns bad?"
