So I have a 25lb bag of clay I forgot about for a couple of semesters. The stuff isn't bone dry but it's really stiff. My current method for rehydrating is to break the the clay up into smaller pieces the size of oranges, stab some holes into it, and just constantly soak them over the next couple of days or so.

I wanted to know if anyone had any better methods that could possible save me some time?

I don't know if it's different for different types of clay, but in my art class the teacher always just added the clay and some water to a bucket and mixed it together until it was the right consistency. You just kneed it like dough and eventually it rehydrates. You have to be careful not to add to much water though or else it turns into more of a mud-like consistency.

Even if it does end up mud-like, you can just set it out under the sun to let it dry.
Take note, don't leave it there to dry up again, or else you'll have to soak it in water again (and I'm sure you wouldn't want that).
