PLOT

For seven hundred and sixty-three years, the line of Ishida has ruled the Kingdom of Minamoto. Under their emperor, each generation of the people grew in the talents of art and magic making them a feared by the neighboring kingdoms.

The Ishida Acension brought about a reign to the chaos of warring tribes and created a seat of power in the now capital city of Kin. And for each generation, the Emperor of Minamoto has kept by his side one of the tribe of Fuuchouin. White haired and red eyed people, the Fuuchouin line was rumored to be the spawns of demon kind, but have faithfully served the Emperor with their whole hearts, minds, and bodies. Feared by the people for their lineage and their advanced magics and illusions, the Fuuchouin remain a secluded people, nestled deep in the forests near the Minamoto boarder.

In the 763rd year of the Ishida Acension, the previous Emperor, Ishida Kaidou passed away and the throne of Minamoto came into the hands of the Emperor's youngest son, Ishida Akatsuki. With Fuuchouin Hikaru by his side, it was thought secretly that the young Emperor would bring a new era to the kingdom...

For a prophecy of destruction existed amongst those who watched over the country's shrines. Those immortal seers who advised the Emperor and it's people on all matters of the spirit and the supernatural...

‘There shallt come a second child, born of Ishida, who shall unite the world in the Seven-Hundred and Sixty-Fifth year of the Ascension. All shall turn from his side, and in their betrayal, he shall be forced to make a contract with a demon. Forfeiting his life, his very soul, he shall bring an eternal peace to the world with the power he hath gained. However, he shall forever be remembered as an enemy to the world, and his name shall be scratched from the annuals of history.
So it hath been prophesied, so it hath been written.
3 I.A. - Yume Shizuka’

The prophecy has, thankfully, remained hidden from Akatsuki by the hand of Hikaru... and by a man in the shadows. Having thought his elder brother to have died at sea, Akatsuki came to discover that he lived and had been imprisoned within the fortress of Gokusha for the murders of many of the palace staff. Ishida Shouryuu was a man possessed... a man who had made a deal with a demon in his little brother's place. The demon, Fuuchouin Hikaru, for in fact his line was of such dark descent, would keep Akatsuki safe from the prophecy... while the murderous rampage of Shouryuu, who had been released from prison by a grief stricken Akatsuki, struck down all those in Minamoto who had ever heard the prophecy... including the Seers themselves. For both men loved Akatsuki with all their hearts... and both men would kill for the love of their Emperor.

However, there is another prophecy, of a savior who will come to Minamoto in it's dark hour.

A savior who is fated to be given the power to stop the demon, to in truth stop Hikaru and Shouryuu. But only once that savior is united with the Emperor through a bond of unbreakable love.

So here, in Kin, we set our story. Ishida Akatsuki is the Emperor of Minamoto and his right hand and minister of counsel is Fuuchouin Hikaru who is aided by his shikigami, Umeda Noe the kodama. The Emperor's brother, Ishida Shouyuu, has been sent into exile for the murders of Palace staff and the momentary kidnapping of the Emperor himself. And so far, there has been no sign of the prophesied savior who will help the second son of Ishida Kaidou bring peace to their world.

SETTING

The Imperial Palace - Located in the capital city of Kin, this is the residence of the Emperor and his court. Here the country is governed and here is where a majority of our story takes place.

Fuuchouin Village - Entrance to a realm that supposedly overflows with magic, it is here where the white haired red eyed line of Fuuchouin calls home. This village is off limits to all save the Emperor himself and the shikigami who serve the Fuuchouin.

The Shrine of Umeda - Located in a grove of cherry blossom trees, this is where the kodama shikigami of Fuuchouin Hikaru, Umeda Noe, calls his home.

The Shrine of Chikara - Here is where the Seer Shizuka Yume resides. The greatest of all the Shrines.

Shouryuu's Hideaway - Here is where the first son of Ishida Kaidou makes his home. It is hidden by demon woven magics and accessible only to those who have been blessed by Shouryuu's touch.

NOTES

-> There are seven shrines and seven Seers scattered throughout the kingdom. Seers may be killed but they never age (from the moment they become Seers) nor do they die of natural deaths. Seers are chosen by the shrines themselves and must forsake everything to live and tell the futures of the world. They are answerable only to the Emperor and to the Council of Seers themselves.

-> The Kingdom of Minamoto resides on an island surrounded by a vast sea. They have trade with the neighboring kingdom of Morikin, who is but a small sea away, but relations between the two kingdoms are strained at best. The oceans are too violent and thus diplomacy to other countries is very limited.

-> This world is a mixture of fantasy and both ancient Japan and China, thus anything in either country's lore (such as Kodama from Japan) can be implemented in this RP. However because of the setting there are no guns or cars but crossbows and carriages are just fine.
