My best friend is a victim of rape. He's still a little "messed up" from it, a nervous disorder. Most people still try to comfort him about it, or feel sorry about it, but someone made me lose some respect for humanity by their reaction when they found out. They laughed and called him a wimp. I lost it and nearly tore their head off (I'm defensive when it comes to friends.) I mean, what kind of sadistic @#$&#xho;le laughs at something like that? Do some people not realize how serious abuse like that is? It just happened today, 4 years to the day since it happened. (I do wish his parents would stop bringing it up each year, it doesn't help him.) Just need to rant. I'm just glad my best bro didn't hear it.

I just never realized how insensitive people could be.

I too, want to punch that insensitive a** hole in the face. Who the ******** laughs at/teases someone for being raped? And his parents aren't helping him feel better about it either...god, humanity is rather pissy.
I'm sorry about your friend being a victim to that though. Hope that whoever raped him goes to hell fire.

I wouldn't be surprise if the persons attitude stems back to the idea that men should be "strong" and not be "overpowered", when, as your friend unfortunately knows all too well, men are raped just as women are. Maybe not the same amount of men as women, but still. It's a stigma that needs to go. Men are no better then woman and should not be treated like that when they've gone through such a traumatic experience.

and I am your core. I totally agree. Also, the person who said that is so lucky I don't have an army, otherwise I would have sent my army after them and have them beaten, raped, and then go missing.... Either that, or I had the power of a god and then attacked them myself.

I don't know how or why someone would laugh and call the victim a wimp. First of all, I bet that person would not be laughing if the same shat happened to him. Ugh, I don't know but I'm pissed at that person for their reaction. Anyways, I can understand where you're coming from. I know a girl who was raped (this was recently when I worked at the airport) but she kept her child, a son. She later went on in her life to get married and now she also has a daughter also. Right now, she's studying to become an RN and has a part-time job at the airport. I really truly believe she overcame the incident even though the first few years after were rough. I'm not sure what else to tell you but she's a great person. I look up to her because she puts up with so much. Sorry for rambling but I really do hope things continue to get better for your friend...actually, I bet they will. And even if I don't literally know you, thank you for being such an awesome friend. He definitely needs people like you in his life!
