People apparently haven't been as creative with cat breeding as they have with dog breeding.
With dogs you have the Pomeranian, the Shiba Inu, the Great Dane, the pug, the boxer, the retriever...
But outside of the Siamese, Persian, Tabby, and Mao, who can tell one cat from another? I'm a cat lover more than a dog lover but there's so much more difference between dog breeds than cat breeds.

What about the Devon Rex, Sphinx, American Curl, or Scottish Fold? The Japanese Bobtail or Khao Manee? Pixie-Bobs are cool, too, and I really want a Savannah someday. And of course, we must not forget Bengals, Manxes, or Maine Coons.

I mean, it kinda makes sense for the variety of dogs because dogs were bred to work, and cats tend to be bred for us to pamper them. cat_rolleyes There is quite a variety though. My favorites are the Russinan Blue, Maine Coon, and Abyssinian.
