Chapter 1
I lay down on the smooth soft bed of my hotel room. I ran my hand up and down on the bed loving the feel of the softness of the bed. I gave a long tiring sigh and closed my eyes and just listen to my breathing. It sucks being alone in the world when the one you love is gone. I think back on the day were I met her, the day that everything in my life will changed dramatically.
It was the day my parents had their get together with their friends. You see I come from a rich family were everyone expects you to do everything perfect while keeping up with the “Dale smile.” My father owns his own company and he expects me to be the next owner of Dale’s Enterprise, which is the last thing I want to do; and my mother well she always tells her friends to bring their daughters so I can be “friends” with them. But for my mother it’s short for “pick 1 and marry her.” Every year they have this kind of celebration and every year I sneak past the guard and walk out the back door of the mansion and just walk around the empty streets of New York.
As I walked on the empty streets I felt the cold breeze against my face and the sound of the wind blowing calmly through the air, and blowing my blond hair. Now this is what I like about walking around quiet places, it calms myself and takes all my troubles away. I put my hand on my chest above my heart, I always wonder what it would feel like to have someone to talk too, someone who won’t criticize you for who you want to be, to have someone who loves you for who you are.
As I continued to walk there was a girl walking, or should I say trying to walk. She was using the building’s wall to help her balance herself; I couldn’t look at her face because she was staring at the ground as she walked. I just stood there and stared at her. She had a nice white strap dress on that flowed nicely above her knees; it match her very nicely with her pale skin. She stopped and raised her head up and that’s when I stopped breathing and hold it in afraid of what would happen next. When she raised her head up the first thing I noticed was the most beautiful dark brown eyes. But the thing is, is that her eyes did not show sparkle of life, but lonely and emptiness.
