Right. I can fill it in from here. Gimme a sec...

The world in question is an interesting one. Over all, it consists of beautiful countryside, rolling hills, majestic mountain ranges, and all around impressive scenery. Except for one area. This area extends from one end of the world to the other, dividing it in half, and is sixty miles wide. A dark cloud of smoke covers it, and the towns that used to be within this area have been all but abandoned by their original populations, the husks of shattered buildings leaving only echoes of the hustle and bustle that used to fill the towns. The once beautiful countryside has been decimated by this world's one, chronic disease: war.
User Image
Here, the two races, the Draconians, in their brown/crimson uniforms and camo, and Erudians, beige and tan, clash in vicious battle, slaughtering each other by the thousands, creating this battlefield, fittingly called "The Scar" by both sides. Artillery shells whizz overhead, and the area is filled with the constant chatter of machine gun fire and explosions. Tanks trundle across the war-torn landscape, lobbing shells across the battlefield to explode in either another tank, or among a group of soldiers, cutting them down like a scythe. Infantrymen charge from their foxholes, screaming battlecries as they try to overrun the enemy positions, and sometimes they do, which shifts the front lines by a mile or two, though often they are pushed back within the week. In the abandoned cities, house to house fighting compresses the soldiers and tanks into the crowded streets and buildings, and fighting often devolves to hand-to-hand. Of course, the battle isn't just limited to the ground...
User Image
In the air, Erudian and Draconian planes streak almost gracefully through the air, trying to outmaneuver and shoot down their opponents, while at the same time, trying to provide air support to the ground troops or escorting massive two-and-four-engined bombers across the Scar, which try to break through the literal walls of antiaircraft fire that the ground throws up at them, so that they may continue to their targets....
User Image
Once free of the Scar, the bombers continue to their targets, which can consist of factories, warehouses, military bases, airfields, or, horrifyingly, civilian centers, in a tactic called Terror Bombing, the only objective of which is to demoralize the enemy by killing their civilians. The closer to the Scar the town is, the more damage it will have inflicted to it by bombers, but it will also have more antiaircraft defenses as well. The further back one goes, the less defended yet less damaged the towns get, though there are two towns that have minimal damage, but are very heavily defended, and located very, very far from the Scar. On the west side, you have the Erudian's capital, Cruz.
User Image
Cruz is a very lively city, with the streets hustling and bustling with activity and liveliness, the only signs of war being the anti-aircraft guns mounted on the rooftops, the squads of soldiers who do their routine patrols, and the occasional air raid siren, which goes off either as a simple drill, or sometimes in the event of an actual air raid. Despite the defenses, Cruz is not completely untouched by the Draconians. In a few places, entire blocks have been reduced to rubble by Draconian bombers, and rescuers are seen plying through the wreckage looking for survivors. On every street corner, there are posters urging the civilians not to give up, or telling them to do their part, or, most often, demonizing the Draconians as ruthless monsters that will not hesitate to kill them. Even with the war having gone on for centuries, many Erudians still feel a deep sense of pride, and the recruiting offices are rarely empty.
User Image
The polar opposite of Cruz is Kaltenstien, Draconia's capital, located to the east. It has a more medieval feel to it, with large stone walls and squat, solid buildings. Despite this, it is just as active as Cruz, and even the same in a few ways, though it is a lot more...formal. The bustle is quieter, with people only talking in social areas, like bars, restaurants, coffee houses, or parks, and the military presence is higher, with not soldiers but tanks patrolling the streets. The people quietly, but contentedly go about their business, though they cast an apprehensive stare to the skies whenever the drone of an aircraft engine is heard. Like Cruz, though, many of the rooftops have AA emplacements, and there are large areas of the cities reduced to rubble by Erudian bombers. Also like Erudia are the propaganda posters, denouncing the Erudians as sneering imperialists who want nothing more than to take your home and the clothes off your back before enslaving you to work in the mines.

However, a new set of colors have made their appearance in the Scar: Black and White. Every now and then, a group of Nobodies or Heartless will suddenly appear, and begin attacking both sides simultaneously, both on the ground, or in the air. At these points, something amazing happens: The Erudians and Draconians stop, for just a second, and begin working together to defeat the new enemies. On the ground, Draconian tanks will provide support for Erudian soldiers as they charge into the Heartless' or Nobodies' formations, using numbers and sheer firepower to defeat the hordes to compensate for not having, or even knowing about, Keyblades. In the air, Erudian fighters will work alongside Draconian bombers as they turn their guns against aerial and ground-based Heartless/Nobodies, shredding the creatures apart with a blaze of gunfire. The battles crop up every now and then, and vary in length, depending on what Heartless/Nobodies arrive and in what numbers, but in the end the creatures are dispatched, and the Erudians and Draconians continue their fighting, just as it always was, and as it will always be. Or so it seems....

In Cruz, a familiar elf stands in front of a triumvirate of leaders, delivering his report of what transpired within the last few days.
"That concludes my report. My plane is currently being repaired, though I express....annoyance in having the adviser there to study gummi parts I had added on."

The general in the center tented his fingers, and leaned forward in his desk. He had platinum white hair, and a chiseled face, and the glare off his glasses obscured his eyes. Like all Erudian elves, he had long, pointed ears, though one was blunted at the tip from an unknown injury. "He is only there to make sure that your...enhancements are safe. We must admit, when you went AWOL from your squadron, Captain Li'Arani, we were prepared to court martial you and send you to a transport wing. But your report has us reconsidering. This...key-blade of yours, is it the only think effective against these new enemies?"

Aingel summoned the keyblade, prompting an impressed grunt from the general. "No, sir. Conventional weapons will defeat them, but the Keyblade is much more efficient at it. The only problem is that it 'chooses' its owner, and I am the only known Erudian to be chosen."

T"We noted. When we attempted to confiscate it from you, it disappeared from the guard's hands and reappeared in yours. Are you sure there is no way to duplicate it for general issue to our soldiers?"

"Yes sir. The Keyblades are unique to their wielders, and they seem to have minds of their own. They cannot simply be copied and built in a factory, unfortunately."

The elf on the right spoke up. She looked to be in her forties, though being an elf she was actually on her third century, with straight jet-black hair that covered her ears, and an angular face that was both aged, but still held beauty. "Yes. From what you've told us, it is a weapon of immense power. It would be a boon to our war effort, and could possibly help us push the Draconians all the way back to their capital city...."

Aingel hesitated, thinking back to what Diz said about responsibility. "Y-yes...it would...but from what I understand, the Keyblades are supposed to only be used against Heartless, Nobodies, and the Unversed. They can engage other enemies, but..."

This time, it was the elf on the left who spoke. He had a more...religious look to him, clad in silk robes, with a fringe of white around his bald head. His eyes were small, but still sparkled with life. "What I am interested in is this Kingdom Hearts....what is it? How is it significant to us?"

Aingel hesitated again, this time not sure how to answer. "It....from what I have learned, it's like...the world that connects all the other worlds...I..." He scratched his head. He had read a book that he had pilfered from the Academy's library, just some sort of "in a nutshell" book that was meant for newcomers like himself, but it didn't help much. "The best I can describe it is that its the heart of all worlds. Ours, and all the others."

The general in the center made a thoughtful sound, tenting his fingers again in thought. "Hm. Whatever it may be, you, Captain Li'Arani, have become an important asset to the Erudian Royal Armed Forces. We will return you to your squadron, but you must be ready t return to the capital if we require more of your expertise...." He paused for a second, then spoke again. "You look hesitant to say something. What's on your mind?"

Aingel blinked, then spoke reluctantly. "I'm just....concerned about the state of the war..."

"You fear we may lose to the Draconians?"

"No, sir, not to the Draconians, but...I've read the reports from the front lines, sir. The Heartless and Nobodies that appear are dispatched, but soldiers are also reporting that it is taking more of an effort to defeat them...and the fighting with the Draconians are not helping...our forces are divided amongst the two enemies, and Headmaster Diz said that these creatures are nowhere near running out of reinforcements. If we only had one enemy to focus on, the creatures, perhaps we could-"

The female elf interrupted this time. Though she did not change her facial expression, the scowl could be heard in her voice. "Surely you are not implying we...make peace with the Draconian scum, are you? They are, and have always been our enemies. This war has been going on before any of us are born, and will not stop until the Draconians are defeated! I would sooner spit on my mother's grave than sign a peace treaty with those-"

"These creatures are here to destroy our world!" Aingel had finally worked up the gall to interrupt her now, his hardened voice silencing hers, and the revelation casting an aura of stunned silence upon the triumvirate. With Aingel in the spotlight now, be reluctantly continued. "I know that the Draconians have always been our enemies. Maybe they always will be. But the truth is, for the first time since this war began, we are faced with a choice: Our honor or our lives. The Heartless, Unversed, Nobodies...they do not care about "morale" or "mercy." Their only goal is to destroy us all, and our world with us. I will admit, I am no friend of the Draconians, not after they killed my parents. I will most likely never forgive them for it. But now we have an enemy that is worse. That will cast both sides into an endless abyss and devour our souls. This war needs to stop, or else we are all doomed." Aingel was practically telling himself as he was telling them. For the first time, he realized just how big this picture was. The Draconians were the least of Erudia's problems now.

The general in the center finally broke the stunned silence, organizing his papers and nodding to Aingel. "Thank you for your report, Captain Li'Arani. We will call for you if we have further questions."

Aingel knew he was walking a thin rope here, so he simply saluted and left, heading to the train station and boarding a train that was heading towards his squadron's air base. He knew that he probably didn't convince the Triumverate to make peace, though he also knew that they probably couldn't even if they wanted to. One couldn't just simply end a war with a wave of the hand. However, he hoped that he at least got them to see the big picture. This went further than Erudia, further than Draconia, Twilight Town, the Destiny Islands, or the Academy. This was about the survival of the universe as they knew it. And Erudia had just become a part of it. They either had to make peace, or find a way to defeat Draconia as soon as possible. He looked out the window as the passenger train sped through the countryside. Peace was a foreign prospect to this world. The war, and the Scar it created, had become as a part of it as the trees and the ground. Would this world continue to be without it? Who knew? Of course, there was always the lingering chance that the war would just continue where it left off once the Heartless and Nobodies were dealt with...

His thoughts drifted back to Rena, the girl he had met, and whom had betrayed him to go with that Nobody b*****d. The pain still pulled at his heart, and he wanted to cry out, but he restrained himself. He found her...likable, and maybe he had been starting to like her...But now she was gone, off to do whatever Xavier wanted of her. Hell, chances were he would have to fight and kill her eventually. The thought brought more pain, so he shook it away. He had to stop thinking about her. She was gone. No changing that. He didn't even know where she went. Now all he could do was get back into the action. Even if the war had to end, Aingel knew that there was nothing he could do about it at this point. What he could do was keep fighting, and hope that he fired that last bullet or dropped that last bomb that breaks the Draconians and forces them to retreat of seek peace. It was a low chance, but as he said, it was all he could do.

A little shadow blob appeared on the ceiling of the train as Niko the shadow heartless fell down in front of Aingel. "Ow....dang that hurt....i need to pick my landings.....oh you." He said as he looked up at Aingel. "Oh don't worry i'm no threat, please don't attack me." He said.

Aingel jumped, startled at the Heartless's appearance. As he stood up, Aingel's hand was cocked, ready to summon his Keyblade at the flick of a wrist. He relaxed a little when the person greeted him, but was still wary that he was technically the enemy. "OK.....who are you, then? You do realize that this world is not....friendly to your kind, right?"
PostPosted: Sun Oct 21, 2012 9:28 pm

"Yeh i know. But i had to find out for myself. I am a servant of Mistress Kelina. My name is Niko. I wanted to find out if you were the one who took Rena from the acadamy." He asked looking at him.

Aingel looked at the man, cocking his head for a second before frowning and nodding. "I was. She asked for a ride to Twilight Town, but betrayed me there and joined forces with a Nobody by the name of Xavier. The last I saw of her was on the tram to....Yin Sid's, was it? Either way, that was the last I saw her, and if she went anywhere else, I do not know."
PostPosted: Sun Oct 21, 2012 9:38 pm

"Betrayed? or influenced. You heard she has the Light Guardian of Kingdom hearts in her? If not its there and its influencing her decision. So i ask you. Why did you leave her?" Niko asked as he crawled up onto the train seat as a heartless.

Aingel scowled. He was getting annoyed with this creature. He had half a mind to summon his keyblade and see if Heartless had internal organs, but restrained himself. "I didn't leave her. She trapped me and sent me back to Twilight Town. I would have left her anyways, though, for putting her trust in that...." He had to remember that Xavier was no longer a Draconian. "...that Nobody. I told her not to trust it, and what does she do? She trusts it anyways. I'm done with her. If she wants to follow that creature around until it kills her for its own ends, let her." He wanted to say he believed that. He really did. He had to get over Rena, or else he would be too distracted to do his job. ut part of him didn't want to accept that. Part of him...wanted to see her again.
PostPosted: Sun Oct 21, 2012 9:49 pm

"Hmm well then if thats your choice hey maybe you'l see her again but looking just like me. Do you want that on your conscious. If you truly believe that then convince her otherwise." Niko said as a Keyblade appeared in his hand but this was a dark Keyblade of the heartless.

Aingel summoned his own Keyblade and faced the Heartless, his expression hard and blank. "No. You're wrong. I do not need to convince her of anything. It's her life, she's free to live it. And I need to forget about her. Obsessing over her will be what leads me down your path." Aingel was talking to himself as much as the Heartless. He had to forget. Hard work and dedication would erase her memories. He had to focus. Not on Rena, but on his job. He was a pilot in the Erudian Royal Air Force. "Now, begone, Heartless, unless you are willing to put that blade of yours to use."
PostPosted: Sun Oct 21, 2012 10:04 pm

"heh...HAHAHAHAHHA. Oh wow...boy do you know what turned me into a heartless? The exact same thing your doing right now. Why don't you think on that before leaving a friend to perish." Niko said before he disappeared into the darkness.

Aingel blinked as the Heartless disappeared. Die? No, no. He didn't leave Rena to die. Rena had left him. That meant she knew what she was doing...right? He was a Light Guardian, or whatever they were called. They sounded powerful. They had to be. Rena would be able to handle herself-
He shook his head. No. He had to stop caring. Forget about Rena, forget about Xavier, only focus on his job. It's what he did. He looked up at the train ground to a halt outside his airbase. Dismissing his keyblade, he exited the train and made his way in, laughing with his squadron mates, who slapped his back and were glad to see him again. He wasted no time heading to the dispatcher's office, where he received his orders and went to the briefing room to fill everyone in. Today, their target was a Draconian factory not too far from the Scar. That meant lots of AA fire, and lots of fighters as well. It was still relatively early in the day, but twilight would fall as the planes made their ways home. It would be tough, he admitted to the crews, but they didn't sign on to get an "easy" job. With that, he dismissed the crews, and everyone went off to their planes...

User Image
Aingel walked up to his plane, and looked over it with pride. It was silver, with a yellow tail adorned with the Erudian national symbol. On its nose with a picture of an elven beauty wielding a longsword, with the name "Guardian Angel!" adorned above her. Aingel climbed in, and waited for his crew to get settled in as well, before starting the engines. He taxied out onto the runway, and opened the throttle, roaring down the runway and sailing into the air, the rest of his squadron right behind. As soon as everyone formed up, Aingel led them towards the Scar, the factory that was their target just beyond in the thick of it...

[[Aingel is now heading towards the Scar. New posters, please remember to tell us where you are coming in. See the directory above for the listed locations.]]

As with most Heartless/Nobody attacks, Aingel's squadron took a loss or two, and some planes were damaged, but then they repaid the creatures tenfold. The Draconian fighters, which had been previously attacking Aingel, turned and began concentrating on the Heartless and Nobodies. Aingel also began attacking, turning his squadron from the missing flight path and straight into the horde of airborne creatures, the machine guns on the bombers blazing away. Beams and bullet tracers crisscrossed, creating spectacles of light across the skies as soldiers on both sides down on the ground gave pause to stare up at the battle in awe. Planes and creatures both fell from the skies, but is was soon apparent that the creatures were being pushed back. Aingel's plane shuddered as a lance of energy nicked it, but he recovered, pulling the plane around for another pass. Soon, the horde was defeated, and the skies fell quiet for a moment as the Draconians and Erudians re-composed themselves. Aingel re-formed his formation, and turned back on path, and but soon after the Draconians began attacking again, the fighters diving for Aingel's squadron while the AA, which had fallen silent to allow the planes to defeat the creatures, picked up again their deadly airbursts claiming a few more Erudian bombers. But they powered through, the machine gun turrets that had moments ago been supporting the attacking fighters now turning against them. It seemed like madness to Aingel, but at the same time, he understood that the Draconians were just doing their jobs. As much as he loathed them, he held a grudging respect. Maybe....maybe if peace ever did occur, he would buy those pilots a drink....

Aingel's squadron tan the gauntlet for a while longer, but soon the AA fire died away for the moment, at least until they would react the factory, where it would surely pick up again. The Draconian fighters, seeing their quarry escape, turned back to the Scar to wait for another formation of enemy bombers. As Aingel relaxed, he reflected on the intensity of the battle. The soldiers were not kidding when they said it was tough. But Aingel couldn't help but feel like his plane was being singled out, multiple times. He wondered if the creatures were purposely going after him....if so, he would have a lot more problems on his hands.
