Caleb scanned the field at the beginning of the game. He hardly saw the Hufflepuff seeker as a threat. She was too much of a novice player for that. Now a fourth year beater that was a different story. Setting his eyes on Ilene he took aim and fired a bludger at her.

spaceAndi was surprised to see she was the first one on the pitch. Normally she was running late for these things. Then again, this year she was VC, which meant she had to... try harder? Or, well. Make a better impression, or something. She'd have to ask James. Then again, his approach to captaining seemed to be just being his usual bundle of positivity self, while he left Cyd to be an arsehole threatening people with her beater bat. Except Cian was definitely the puppy between the two of them, but he was also the one with the beater bat... hm. This dynamic might need some work.

He was still a bit nervous about his first game as captain but he trusted his team; he knew they'd play the best they could and that's all he wanted. He was a bit conflicted about this game: on one hand, he and Jack had been competing since they were first years and this year shouldn't really be any different except it was since Jack was now a captain. And on the other, Cian was both of their friends and obvi he wanted his friend to get a win his first game as captain. But he also wanted the same for his brother. Meh, they were big boys, they didn't need him galaxy braining about this. All he had to do was his best and the rest was up to fate. And the seekers.

Will headed out to the pitch, hoping his first game as a starter went well. He'd been so nervous he hadn't eaten breakfast, and now he felt a weird mix of nausea and stress. What if he messed everything up? What if he couldn't land any of his hits? He glanced over at the Hawthorne twins, his hands in his pockets as he stepped in place a few times. Why was he this nervous? He'd been on the team for four years! He moved his hands, nervously pushing back his hair. For once, he really, really hoped his dad was too busy to attend the game.
