Tokio was at the age of five. He had a nice childhood and was gifted with the power of the Keyblade. Ten years later, Tokio was a normal student in high school. He used to have dreams about saving a princess from dragon. The boy defeated the dragon with a mighty sword. Then afterwards, the princess rewards him with a kiss that ended the dream. He repeatedly had the same dream over and over again. One different dream depicted him falling into a deep abyss and then barely being consumed by darkness. A powerful light protected him and lifted him into the air. The light revealed the Keyblade in its strongest form. The red-haired boy abruptly woke up from his dream. Tokio noticed something strange in the wind. He checked outside to witness his world swarming with dark creatures of some kind. His best friend, Haseo, accompanied him. He possessed a weapon that was similar to the one in his dreams. Tokio followed along for safety. They made attempt crossed a bridge to which a force was strong enough to make the ground they were walking on collaspe. Tokio hung on by the ledge, struggling to climb back up. His friend, Haseo, caught his hand and pulled him up. The two were ambushed by those dark creatures. It was thus, Tokio wielded the Keyblade by instinct alone. Back to back, Tokio and Haseo vanquished the heartless surrounding them.
Later on, Tokio landed in Traverse Town in the Third District. He laid there unconscious and woke up. The Keyblade was laying beside him and was dismissed. Tokio then wondered the streets in search of refuge. He happened to run into Haseo who was already looking for him. Tokio was happy to see that he was alive. When Tokio asked Haseo where were they, he replied that they were in Traverse Town. He further added that this place is where most find refuge when their homes are wrecked by the darkness. It seemed Tokio had no choice but to live in Traverse Town. That didn't mean he necessarily gave up. Tokio heard word that there were these Gummi Ships that can travel to other worlds. He was determined to have one of his own. He built the Aphelion by himself and used "her" to travel to many worlds throughout Interspace. Luckily, he bumped into a few worlds that involved other Keyblade Wielders. That way, he became a Keyblade Apprentice and learned to know how to summon and dismiss the Keyblade in which has been a problem to him. He did not stop there either. Tokio learned how to use Magic and the basics of using a Keyblade. With the new-found knowledge, he grew as a Keyblade Wielder AND as a person as he ventured to other worlds.

His parents were murdered by the heartless which traumitized him. The boy was separate from others and didn't get people. He was anti-social and cold to others. But, his cold heart changed when he met a certain someone. His name was Tokio. He was the first person he'd open up to. The two formed a friendship with each other. A strong bond between them flourished. Once their world was in turmoil, the two banded together to escape. Haseo learned how to wield the Keyblade by instinct and fought side by side with his friend, who was also in the possession of one. He abandoned the crumbling world to find himself separated from his friend. Haseo had no idea where he was. He went to a nearby store to ask where he had landed. The clerk told him he was in Traverse Town where most of its citizens come to find refuge when their worlds were destroyed. Haseo planned on finding his friend. After hours of searching, he found Tokio wandering the streets alone. It felt as if so many year had passed, but it had only been a few hours ever since they've seen each other. Haseo and Tokio lived in Traverse Town for quite awhile before they built Gummi Ships of their own. Haseo's ship was named "The Leviathan" and used it to traverse scattered worlds across Interspace. He became a Keyblade Apprentice and went to the academy to effectively achieve the level of a Keyblade Master.

One day, they were attacked by a man in a suit with green hair. Ragna's left arm was cut off by his own brother in surprise and the entire cathedral was burned down. His sister, along with the man and his brother exited. Left in tears, Ragna was slowly dying. A female vampire in a dress named Rachel came to his calling and sucked his blood before he could scream. This gave him the chance to live, but he passed out. Much after the accident, he awoke in a laboratory. He was accompanied by a feline-like woman in a lab coat with a attitude problem whose identity was beyond him. She was Professor Kokonoe. His left missing arm got replaced with a auto-mail arm that sealed the darkness with her genius and intellect. She told Ragna about the unstable lurking within him. Later on, he met Jubei, a Keyblade Master. He was a talking feline wearing a garb. He was trained by him and was awarded a new jacket and sword, he became the 'Bloodedge' we know today.
