I seem to be in a bit of a rut as it comes to my music. Not saying I dislike what I listen to but I seem to be too lazy to look up new bands so I seem to be listening to the same few bands and not much else. So if anyone knows of some good metal bands (preferably melodic death metal) drop something in here and I'll check it out.

If good melodeath is your thing, I'm not sure how extensive your collection is but I would definitely recommend Before The Dawn, Dark Tranquility, Children of Bodom, Threat Signal, Amon Amarth, and any other bands centered around the Gothenburg scene. Gothenburg was huge for melodeath in Europe especially in the 80's and 90's, so look that up.

I don't listen to too much melodeath, but Amon Amarth is pretty good band to start. Also, from what I hear, you might also try Carcass and Arch Enemy.

Some people might just shrug them off as a novelty band (I call them dumb wankers), but the Pirate Metal band Alestorm shreds like no one's business. And if you into a little oldschool raaarrrh, can't go wrong with Lime Jello.

Goes to show how often I'm on here. I didn't know anyone had actually replied to this.
Justified Death- Yeah I'm a huge fan of DT and I like Amon Amarth as well. Not to big on Children of Bodom but I'll have to check out the other few.
Odin-As I mentioned above I already like Amon Amarth and I like Arch Enemy or at least their old stuff (Black Earth album kicks a**) but I'll check out Carcass.
Wako- I tend to agree on Alestorm being a novelty band but I do like a few of their songs. Lime Jello though? Sounds... Interesting. I'll check them out at any rate.
And if anyone is looking for a pretty badass metal band check out Kalmah.
