Here's a thread to explain the Koei games that the Warriorz Guild is dedicated to.
The Dynasty Warriors series is Koei's biggest franchise. It is a "hack-n-slash" (basically a game where you go on a battlefield, and fight armies of enemies with mainly melee weapons) set in the Three Kingdoms era of China. The story mainly follows the stories of the Three Kingdoms, from the Yellow Turban Rebellion (the first battle of the game) right to the end of the era. The Three Kingdoms are Wei, Wu, and Shu, and typically, you can play as one of these kingdom's most famous warriors, and fight through the battles that occurred in this era. This era was between the mid 3rd century AD, and the mid 4th century AD. The most recent game in this series is Dynasty Warriors 7

The Samurai Warriors series is similar to Dynasty Warriors, in terms of it's concept. The main difference is the fact that it's set in the Warring States/Sengoku period of Japan. It mainly follows the clans that were involved in the various attempts to unify Japan, under one Damiyo, who would hopefully become the Shogun of Japan. This takes place between the mid 15th century AD, and the beginning of the 17th century AD. The most recent game in this series is Samurai Warriors 3

And finally, the Warriors Orochi series is the result of an evil demon called Orochi, who fuses the settings of Dynasty Warriors and Samurai Warriors into one world, therefore bringing the characters of both series into the same world as well, in order to test Orochi's might. The most recent game in this series (released on the 27th March 2012 in the USA, 6th April 2012 in Europe) is Warriors Orochi 3.
