This is the new version of the thread. I've done my best to fix links and update old information; if anyone has suggestions or requests, throw them at me! A PM may get the fastest response.

I've also taken out most of the links to commercial patterns, as they change over the years, and I believe that a search through a pattern catalogue (I've linked to those) will do just fine. Thankfully, there are more tutorials from people within the English speaking Lolita community than there were a few years ago, so I'll be adding more and more of those as I find them or links are posted in comments to this thread.

http://www.dharmatrading.com - this is the mother of all sites if you're interested in dying or printing fabric. They have a good selection of white fabric (ready to dye in many cases) and cotton lace. If you knit at all, they also carry wonderful yarns. And fans, they have blank silk fans.
