If I could think of one thing that could have been improved in The Hunger Games, it could have definitely used a character who was there throughout the story to provide comic relief, even during the games. Sure Peeta and the other winner from District 12 were funny at times, so was Katniss, but there were times when the mood needed to be lightened a bit. For instance, after Rue's death, I had to find my own way to cheer myself up before I could keep reading. If the comic relief character had come along just as Rue's body was discovered, he or she could have done something to make Katniss laugh at the expense of the boy from District 4 who speared Rue, like string him up in a tree so that he was hanging upside down with no way to escape. Kudos for anyone who can guess what I'm referencing with that.
