Germany made the first artificial Christmas trees. They were made of goose feathers and dyed green. smile

In 1647, the English parliament passed a law made Christmas illegal. The Puritan leader Oliver Cromwell, who considered feasting and revelry on what was supposed to be a holy day to be immoral, banned the Christmas festivities. The ban was lifted only when Cromwell lost power in 1660.

Christmas was not always the family friendly holiday we've all known. It used to be used as an exuse to get drunk. It was a Pagan holiday, and the original concept of Santa Clause was created for store propaganda. who knows where the guy got the idea, who knoes...

in cuba, christmas is a recent holiday becuz it was banned in 1969 becuz it interfiered with the sugar harvest.
