This is a check more than anything... and to ask a question... Which system would you guys like to play in most?

3.5 I have the most experience with
Pathfinder know the rules haven't really ran something off of it before
4e still new to it

[ Premise/Foreword ]

Kumite ... Warriors of all walks of life come to fight. Some do it for the money, others honor glory and fame.

The Kumite tournament was set up tens thousands of years ago, by an monastic order to test the strength of the nations warriors. Many wars have been halted before they even begin by the outcome. As time passed, not only the fate of nations hanged with the games but, also the wealth of men's pockets. Today, thanks to the passing of coin, the tournament has lost much of its prestige and honorable traditions.

[ Game Introduction/Plot ]

Fights will take a 1 on1 or in 3 on 3 teams,

Team fights will take place here. http://www.wizards.com/dnd/images/mapofweek/May2006/03_MAWMay2006_72_ppi_h4043g3.jpg They will start in one room and can expand to other rooms.

Still looking for an area for the solo battles, but it will probably be a single room.

None of these systems really lend themselves to single combat, they're all rather team-oriented. That said, if you're looking at a tactical combat romp, 4e is the way to go.

The thing about 3.X (and I assume Pathfinder), is that warrior classes rule early on, and spellcasting classes rule later on. On a 1-on-1 scenario (and possibly a team one), where does one find the balance to make it fair for everyone?

I like 4e in this regard because it's a far more balanced system for such things. smile
