New game, looking for interest

I'm going to need some help preparing this mate. I want to be a huckster Muckraker. If possible of course.

Actually, just a muckraker till I get the hang of the game. Some of these terms are really damn confusing.

Character creation. It's a new system that I don't understand. Teach me, guide me, and I shall learn.

Alright, let's begin with the Deadlands equivalent of a stat roll. Take a standard poker deck (54 cards, Jokers included) and shuffle the hell out of it! Then draw 12 cards from the top of the deck. (If you don't have access to a deck like this, use this link) Choose two cards to discard, with the exception of Jokers and Deuces (Two's). Your stuck with those hombre! I would base your selection on cards to drop from the table on page 31 in the players handbook. Go ahead and let me know once you've done that, and tell me if you drew any Jokers!

1 Duece: Diomands
2 Queens: Diomands and Clubs
1 Jack: Clubs
3 9's: Club, Diomand, Hearts
1 Ace: Spades
2 7's: Hearts and Spades.

What you want to do with these is sort them out into your 10 traits.
The list of traits is on page 31, as well as a brief description of what they represent. When determining your traits, consider the aptitudes attached to the traits as well.

(By the way, in D&D terms, Traits=Abilities and Aptitudes=Skills)

Just read the book CAREFULLY (The less I have to explain, the easier it is... I can't say I'm the best explainer) and go ahead and build your character! PM me if you draw any Jokers in your Trait draw, and I'll tell you (if appropriate) what they mean! As for an online character sheet, go ahead and use this. Once you've filled it out, PM me, and I'll give you my e-mail, and let you know when to pop in! biggrin
