The red spotty dog is home! Hes a little timid, and extra chunky, and hes a cat chaser. Pixie isn't helping any by running up to him and giving him a good swat wherever she can reach. and of course Dexter is too pushy for him, but I believe after a couple weeks, he and Dexter will get along just fine. This poor dog didn't even have a name, they just called him Dog, for 3 years! Jack was just a name I was given over the phone, the kids and their father were all calling him Dog, and I was shown how submissive he was by the husband grabbing him by the neck and pinning him to the ground. That was what sealed the deal, I couldn't leave this poor guy there. For now he is going to stay tethered to me, until I learn his personality, and to keep him from chasing the cat. He is very food motivated, I grabbed a treat and he immediately sat down, and started drooling on my floor. No wonder hes so fat. lol Ain't he handsome!? Now if I can just decide on a name for him.

So freaking cute! I love how Aussies always look happy ALL the time. My dog (a little beagle-mix) went on a play date with a deaf, blue-eyed Aussie a couple weeks ago for the first time and they had a blast! I've never seen my dog play so hard or keep up with the energy of an Aussie! heart

Yep the first pics are from his old house.
Finn, Hoyt and Charlie along with 8 other names have been rolling around in my head.
For never being in a crate before, he did very well last night, I was expecting some whining or even barking but he settled down and went to sleep as soon as the door was shut. He did growl at Dexter once or twice, but I plan on wearing them both out this weekend and trying intoductions again. until then I will be rotating who's in the crate. When I let him out to potty this morning, he ran around the house with my sock in him mouth and played keep away. He waits very nicely for his breakfast too.

Red Spotty Dog is now officially name Finn. And I have absolutely fallen head over heels for this dog! His anxiousness with Dexter has calmed down a little, they are still getting very little interaction, but he is no longer growling if Dex passes the crate, and even tried to initiate play with him through the baby gate this morning, on his way out to potty. Finn has the best wiggle butt ever! Hes so cute when I let him out of the crate this morning, his whole back end was wiggling 100mph and he was running around the room like a madman with my sock in his mouth.

I absolutely love his half-masked face! Odd-eyes and all. =D He looks so happy to be out of his previous home.
I couldn't keep up with or own an Aussie, but they're cute as hell. xD

His coloring is called a Red Merle. Will warn you that merles can have sight and hearing problems so get him checked with that at the vets.

CUTE, Love the perfect line down his face. Ya, he totally looks bummed in the first pics you posted, and just super smiley happy in all the others.
@Gabriella Merle Aussies like "Dog" here and not usually a concern for sight and hearing. A DOUBLE merle is, but he would have a lot of white on him if he was a double merle. That being said, collie eye does tend to be an issue, or so I've heard. But over all (unless your idiot enough to mix two merles or two bob tails, if you're a half decent breeder that has looked up breeding aussies on the internet) they're a healthy breed. When I graduate Animal Health and have enough cash, I'm so getting another Aussie. Or maybe a Toller, probably both lol.

xXGabriella-ShadowfireXx His coloring is called a Red Merle. Will warn you that merles can have sight and hearing problems so get him checked with that at the vets. I am well aware of what the color and markings are, along with the health issues this breed has. I also enjoy calling Finn my Red Spotty Dog, In a normal merle aussie, I would be more worried about epilepsy than I would about blindness or deafness.
