I was walking my dog today when a little old lady started yelling at us from across the parking lot.
Mean Old Lady: Put your dog on a short leash!
Me: *looks down at three feet of leash and twenty yard distance* She's harmless.
Dog: *sniffs the ground*
Mean Old Lady: I don't want it to charge me!
Me: She wouldn't be interested in you.
Mean Old Lady: *crosses parking lot, gets close to dog*
Me: O_o
Dog: *keeps sniffing the ground*
Mean Old Lady: Oh geez, this is what I was afraid of!
Me: >_>
Mean Old Lady: Hey, listen! Can you understand English?!
Me: ....いや、英語わかりません。
Mean Old Lady: >=O
Me: *wonders if お should have been in there somewhere, wanders away*
Mean Old Lady: If that dog knocks me over, you're gonna be the one in trouble, lady!
Dog: *still sniffing the ground*
Me: 9_9
I used to live next door to a pit bull that was known to hve killed cats (and almost killed mine!). You know what I did when I saw it? I DIDN'T WALK TOWARD IT. It makes sense, right? It's not just me?

Sometimes the elderly do that just to interact with people, because that's the only interaction they have.

I actually LIKE when random dogs approach me. Who wouldn't!?

I love old people.
You know, I aspire to be like that when I am old. I'm going to be the old lady, on my porch with my cane, yelling at the kids as they pass by.
"Get off my lawn you whipper-snappers!"
