Where you just feel inferior art wise?
I can look at other people's really awesome art, and I get get both jealous, and inspired (Ok, occasionally hopeless, but I know where I want to be, I'm just taking my sweet time to get there sweatdrop )
Anyone else ever feel that way?

hell yes, it hits me like a tone of rocks sometimes... XD but I think its only normal.... its not something we like to hear, specially since we sometimes put a lot of energy into our drawings, but no matter how good you get, there will always be someone out there who is better than you. But just because there's someone out there who is better than you in one aspect doesn't mean everything you've done so far isn't worth it, or that its not a beautiful work of art.
Its easy to get distracted or even discouraged when your an artist... lets face it, we don't have it easy. Art is such a subjective form that its easy to criticize our work and fail to see all the beauty with in it at the same time. But know that every work of art you do, brings you something, wither its just practice or new ideas, techniques and expression of creativity, everything you draws, makes you a little bit better at something. Thats the beauty of being an artist, were always growing, and always improving. Sometimes we get stuck in patterns were we don't see us progressing anymore but usually we just need to sit back and take a break or try drawing our art from another approach and things move on afterwards.
Don't give up on yourself, and don't let yourself put you down. The only one who can really put yourself down is yourself, and only if you want to. Try focusing on the stuff you've done better instead of the stuff other people can. Try comparing your drawings from last year to this year and see how you've improved or how you can improve more, instead of what other people can do. You will never be someone else, so why try comparing yourself to someone else. You will always be you. Amazing and talented you. So try not to compare yourself to others, compare yourself only to yourself, since really, your the person who matters wink

and Kai comes in with a nice inspiring speech ^^
I look at my old stuff sometimes, and can see where I've gotten better (cant stand to see the old stuff now sweatdrop ) Sometimes the improvement seems to come randomly, but with me I notice that if I dont draw something as good as I can (Ok.. faces...) that distracts me from my drawings, but the opposite is true too ^^

Vanna1994 and Kai comes in with a nice inspiring speech ^^ I look at my old stuff sometimes, and can see where I've gotten better (cant stand to see the old stuff now sweatdrop ) Sometimes the improvement seems to come randomly, but with me I notice that if I dont draw something as good as I can (Ok.. faces...) that distracts me from my drawings, but the opposite is true too ^^ when you see that your drawings hit a plato, maybe try drawing different kinds of faces... different from what your used to drawing. Look on deviant art or in art books, find artist who draw interesting faces, and try to draw faces like them. Start by copying them a little and then after you draw 2-3 faces, try drawing your own character with the same types of visual features your favorite artist drew theres.... it could be that you just hit a plato, and don't know were to go with your art. By exploring new ways of drawing faces you might be able to break through that

At some point I will go and draw real life faces, so that should help too.
Thanks for the advice ^^

Ooh definitely. Except then I think, "you know what? They worked super hard to get here - it's not like they picked up a pencil for the first time and suddenly knew everything!" So as long as I work by butt off, there's no reason why I can be equally good - or even better! Getting depressed won't help you at all! wink

I know that I do all of the time.( I have even caught myself wanting to critisize a photographer because I thought the light shading should have been a certain way .) When I draw something and may get it 97-98% complete and some one looks at it and oh's and aw's, I find one thing that I dislike about what I drew and end up riping it in half. People think Im crazed, Im just a perfectionist is all.~OK, Maybe a little crazed..) lol. Hugs & Giggles, ~Lyn~

I usually have like, 1+ things that look terrible on my drawings (normally its the face..) I couldnt tear mine up though. Even though i dont like it, I figure I could use it for future ideas (which, usually doesnt help anyway sweatdrop )

All the time. Over the years I've lost a lot of inspiration, and passion for art. I look at other artists and I feel kind of hopeless. My art took a drastic change in style recently, as my interests have mostly changed. I just don't have passion or energy for a lot of it anymore.
