WE'VE BEEN SPOTLIGHTED! blaugh Be sure to join the guild, for future updates!
Ah. It is coming up to that time of year again, our second Mid-Summer Masquerade. Our Masquerade in August'2010 went off with a bang, literally. This year we will be more prepared, and hope for a bigger bang! I'm joking! ... or am I?
We do of course hope that this year will be better than last year. The details about this years event is listed below. The Masquerade Events Committee are still in talks of activities and competitions to host throughout the event.
Date: August 19th for the U.S.A | August 20th for Europe and further.
Time: 5:30pm PST - 6:30pm MST - 7:30pm CST - 8:30pm EST | 1:30am GMT-0 - 6:30am GMT+5
If the timezones are confusing you, here's a countdown timer:
⇨ Countdown until Ball begins
Location: Towns - GWCI Village, Zip-code: 131582 - 1 Barton through 9 Barton
⇨ Enter the GWCI Village
Dress Code: You must wear a Mask, with the appropriate Formal Attire (dresses, tuxedos, suits, etc), as this is the usual Attire for a Masquerade Ball
Hope to see you all there! Post in this thread if you can attend, can't attend. Vote in the poll above. Take part in the discussions!
We are still accepting donations towards the Masquerade, just to make it that little bit better. We are accepting: Gold, Items, including freebies from your shop. Send details to GWCI Mule.
Oh yeah, and if you think you've seen something like this before, well it's because we did the same thing last year:

Q. I don't understand the dress code, can you explain it a bit more? confused A. Basically, you just have to wear some form of formal attire (like a suit or tuxedo for guys, dresses for girls, etc...) and any form of mask. Usually, for a Masquerade, the style of clothing is a bit old-fashioned...and when I say old-fashioned, I mean like 300-400 years ago old-fashioned, not as in what your parents used to wear.
Q. Who can come to this Event? A. Anyone can! Just as long as you behave yourself (we will have Security Personnel there, by the way... ninja )
Q. Does it have to be like a proper Masquerade outfit? Like a In Real Life one? surprised A. Basically, if it's somewhat smart, and your avi is wearing a mask, then it's cool.
Q. I don't have a date! What should I do?! emo A. Come anyway! You can always come with a Friend! Or if not...then you might meet that special someone there... wink and/or some new friends!
Q. Those timezones in the first post are confusing! When is this Event in my time? A. Well that's a tough question to answer, but we have tried to give the broadest amount of timezones for those most likely to attend (about 80-90% of Gaians are in the USA, so it's mainly based on the American timezones) But here's a link to a countdown timer, which should give you the exact amount of time there is left until the Event begins! (the timer says it's based on a Californian time-zone, and that's because Gaia is based there IRL, so it just seems like the perfect choice!)
⇨ Countdown TimerQ. Can I affiliate my Guild/Thread/Clan with the GWCI for this Event? A. Sure! Just send a link and a banner in a PM to the GWCI Mule!
Q. Can I donate Gold/Items to this Event? A. Of course you can. Just send any items as gifts, or in a trade, and just in a trade for Gold, to the GWCI Mule. If you want to run a contest or giveaway, please let the GWCI Mule know via a PM

Woo!!! I'll definitely be going. I've even got a dress and....hopefully a date. I've got a question though, does one need to be a member of this guild to come? Or could one just come in if they were brought as a date?

So, question: When it says that the dress code requires a Masquerade Mask, does that mean the actual item Masquerade, or can it be any type of mask? Sorry, but this is my first year.
