So the more and more I hear about our debt and the unemployment rate and such it saddens me. So how bad off are you? Yeah I may complain about my situation, but I do at least have food and shelter.

I'm currently taking Political Science, so I'm actually quite up to date on the economy right now. It's true that we're bad off, but like in most situations certain areas of the United States are worse off than others (Example: Michigan is doing terrible, while Texas hasn't really felt the full impact yet), so it's really hard to say. As a whole, our economy is going down the gutter, but we're still FAR better off than a majority of other countries to the east.

I might go homeless again. . _ . So hard to find a lower-priced house here in Cali.

Immortal Dragon Knight I might go homeless again. . _ . So hard to find a lower-priced house here in Cali. Or just save while living in a higher paying place like Cali, then move to a lower cost of living place once you save. From experience, Kentucky has a low cost of living. Ohio isn't too too too bad. You can get a decent apartment here (not in ghetto) for like $500 a month for a 1 bed. Some houses outside of town by about 20 minutes can be $500 a month for a house.

Unemployed for over two years after getting laid off a teaching position. I couldn't afford my car insurance, so I can't drive right now, and my kids and I are sharing the 12ftx8ft bedroom that I grew up in at my mom and dads house. Three out of the four people living her of working age are drawing unemployment and have been for over a year.
I'm from Cincinnati, right on the tri-state border of KY, Ohio, and Indiana, and there's nothing here that will work for me, especially coming from a teaching job. I'm grateful for the part time job I have though, even though I've been cut back to teaching one parenting class a week.

How are they collecting it for that long? Is that consecutive time or a break in between? Although you are in another state, but in Cali it's 6months and then you can apply for an extension for another 6 months, but after that you can't keep getting an extension and eventually it would run out for you because you only paid so much in when you were working.

You can find some lower priced houses out in Cali, but it all depends on the location. Obviously the smaller towns are gonna be so much cheaper. Like over here in Needles it's dirt cheap. I mean $275 to $350 for a 1bdrm apt or house and then the 2bdrm 2 bath are around $375 to $500. So maybe just move over here and we can find a place. I think you would have to emancipated though since not sure if I'm allowed to live with someone who is under 18.

You can collect up to 99 weeks. All your tiers are exhausted at 99 weeks or until you run out of UIC. You get a set amount in your UI account, and you draw it out until you run out and go to the next tier. If you work a part time job, like I have, or like my father has, you turn in what you make. It extends UI on. Sometimes you make enough to open a whole new claim. I have three times. Common knowledge if you're on it and from this area. But regardless, it's kinda personal.

I was just looking for a way to help you out as a friend and potential room mate. Yeah I think you're like 4 or 5 hrs from me last I looked. I forget.

Oh I see then. I was just more curious about how they were collecting it not more the reason why. Didn't mean to overstep a boundary if I did. Well I hope they all can find work and glad you have some work. I know it was killer for me to even find the job I have. I was looking for about 6 months and I know other who have been looking for so much longer and can't find anything. It's really hard all around. Wishing you the best of luck in life.
