Ronyo Storm - Former Slytherin
Detective
Black Forest

Before the twin swords of lightning could strike their target darkness settled over the entire land. A darkness so thick and black that light seemed to suffocate and sound was but a whisper everywhere. It was an odd sensation that seemed to also carry psychological effects or maybe it was just the simple idea of being devoured by suck a blackness that the mind simply found itself unsure of what to do in the face of such tribulations. To that end Ronyo found his recovery from the ground he had landed on slower than he would have wished.

His eyes struggled to understand if they were open or closed but Ronyo quickly centered himself before the one complete loss of a sense acted like a crack on a frozen pond. If Ronyo tapped that crack then it would spread and eventually cause him to drown in the freezing darkness of his own subconscious. Was this what Tay faced on a daily bases? The Detective did not have time to contemplate the philosophy behind the attachment of the dark spell and the user who cast it. He told his mind to close his eyes and thus remained strong that his mind had followed the command and now he could simplify the conflict in front of him. He needed to leave the area the spell encompassed but his normal directions where all but shot, so the only open avenue to the warrior wizard was up. His feet were still on solid ground so he simply worked with what he had and touched wands to ground and released a repulsion charm from each.

Up and up he went until Ronyo broke through the darkness that encompassed the area around the battlements. Looking down Ronyo was impressed with the size of the spells growth and was again reminded that this was likely the single strongest opponent he would ever face. The years in the older Notts curesbreaking classes were now well used as the white haired young man ran through his educated information on the matter at hand. He had only as long as he still moved up in the sky and then fell back to earth before he would face the darkness again. With that Ronyo released several curse countering spells along with the basic selection of spell cancelation charms. Listening to Ronyo it would sound like he was being desperate in his choices of spells as he seemed to rapid fire off several as if he knew not which would work. In truth he didn't but if the spell was created it could be stopped, and short of killing the caster there was always some way to counter a spell...unless it was death itself of course. The darkness did in fact recede but Ronyo was not aware if it was one of his multiple spells or if the spell simply retracted itself after a time to allow the caster to not be stuck in his own spell to long.

Ronyo vanished as he began to fall again to earth and appeared back on solid ground now looking at another problem posed by the third Nott in the Dante line. Multiple versions of the young wizard dotted the landscape all with different physical and emotional interpretations. Some looked in pain, some happy, some like their mind had been enchanted away, but all were fake. Ronyo could feel small emotional attachments to each as they were all of Tay, likely small bits of his own psyche expanded upon which made using emotional location almost impossible among the horde. Ronyo grinned as he simply dipped into a basic idea to weed out the original. Again he vanished and appeared in the sky both wands out and another of his own spells being spoken in rapid succession.

" Levitas Offendo! Levitas Offendo!"

Several times the spell was called and each time a simple bolt of electrical discharge was fired from the wand at one of the images. Then Ronyo vanished again to appear in a new spot in the air and again he fired several volleys before disappearing with a pop once again. Lightning bolts fired off from various spots above the battlefield and slammed into the illusionary image of the once proud bulldog. The spell did not have the same impact force like his other lightning based spells but this one was designed for fast firing and quick actions.

" Levitas Offendo! Levitas Offendo!"

As the illusions thinned out Ronyo was beginning to sense a pattern in the positioning, a pattern of not one. There was no design in the placement, that idea told Ronyo Tay was either injured or setting up his next move which would be stronger than anything yet. The former was promising but the latter was worrying. Either way Ronyo continued in his volley of electrical strikes as he studied the field of combat. Tay wouldn't have left himself among the illusions with the chance that Ronyo might stumble upon one, so he was concealed likely slightly away from the group so no area impact would disturb him as well. If Ronyo had started this engagement he might have believed Tay had run off now, but the ever increasingly dark young wizard had started this and so Tay was likely to try and finish it.

Ronyo appeared on the ground and lowered his wands only slightly knowing his actions now were likely not needed. The white haired detective was good at concealment himself but without a focus point a well crafted enchantment of vanishing was almost impossible to find. With enough time anything could be found but in the middle of combat Ronyo had to wait. Now he was playing Tay's game and that was not something he liked. Tay was most dangerous when he saw the game fall in his favor, for he struck quick and with deadly precision in such occasions. Ronyo needed to level the playing field and help his chances of detection and reaction, so the young wizard quickly reached into his pockets and throw out five stone statues he kept with him.

" Draconifors!"

The five dragon statues came to life and Ronyo made them all of various sizes to begin flying around him to give him some kind of small advanced warning. With a grin the white haired wizard decided to just be himself in the matter and raised his Ash wand high and called out a spell that would give him a bit extra awareness but otherwise would not help in the battle.

"Expecto Patronus!"

The silvery white dragon of pure energy emerged from Ronyo's wand and landed close by and gave a mock roar as always. The dragon helped as emotional support but it would always become aware if Tay attacked from a direction Ronyo was not actively watching. While a bit of an odd choice it still would help in the manner needed. As Ronyo quieted himself and prepared for the coming action he held the spell he could use on his tongue. His lightning shield and lightning blades. If Ronyo could engage Tay in melee combat with his electrical weapons this could be ended quickly.

Time stretched, coiled like the unbroken serpent that feasted upon its own tail devouring itself into nothing. His spine stacked up against a hard surface, notched a million ways and grainy under him, but he hid. His left leg felt lame, he couldn’t feel, couldn’t move, blood turned to ice in those veins. His heart thundered in his ears, and wide, bright eyes flashed rapid, wild and erratic. And when the light finally basked its yellow glory down, it struck his vision with such spite that he very nearly almost hissed in pain. Tight lipped, the smoldering fingers of his free hand cradled the earth, digging nails in deep to root him in, to keep the world from spinning out from under him.

”Levitas Offendo! Levitas Offendo!" A voice rang, its dialect and symphony echoed in his ears, the waning significance and meaning was lost, but it was the voice, just the mere sound that had alerted him to his highest degree. Not the unknown, because he surely, had no knowledge of this mantra, its representation, or what it might mean. ”Levitas Offendo! Levitas Offendo!" Again and again, the words emblazoned in his black mind with fiery hands, sinking claws in deep to puncture his brain. Stop. That’s all he wanted, he wanted it to stop! But it fired off, again and again, echoing in his mind more than it ever rebounded on the earth. Stop, stop! The pain bolted in his leg, where the burst of electrocution had been absorbed from where it struck the ground and bounced, the surge spread through his muscles, in and out, in one fell swoop, buts its effects were devastating on his body, his mind, his heart, his lungs.

”Keep your secrets and your plans and stay as clever as you think you always are.”

                                                    ”Draconifors!”

                                                    —no! He knew now.

                                                    ”Expecto patronum!” The voice called.

                                                    Ronyo.

And then, clarity. Crystal vision magnified, and memories reeled in his mind going backwards in time that unraveled into the here and now. The duel. He was in the shadows of a tree, he realized, now fully aware of his surroundings, and of him. He was still hidden away behind concealment charms, and he struggled to rise. His leg still wouldn’t give, it only took, and he was reaping the price. He had to levitate just to rise high enough to grasp into the bark for stability. In the distance, Ronyo waited. The patronus roared, and it hurt. His soul was crushed and stretched to its thinnest face, battered incessantly by the warmth of which he did not understand. This ache was so foreign to him, so far beyond anything he’d felt, like maggots were crawling in his flesh and blood and tried digging through. He could feel like it, like he was sure it could feel him.

”Remaneo,” Tay’s lethal voice struck with malice, breaking him free from where he hid, lounged against a tree, as if he’d been watching him all this time. The anti-disapparition jinx had been a spell he made himself learn, knowing full and well the extent of his lifelong nemesis's affinity for apparating in and out to his advantage. He felt the impending stares now, from all five statues, the dragon, and him. By now, the last dotted ghostly apparations of Tay blinked out of vision, snuffing into nonexistence one at a time.

Rapid fire succession, he shot his next spell, guiding his wand with a fluid stab and a flick of his wrist. ”Anguis ignus!” He decreed to a total of six times, and with each incantation, a beast glowed from the end of his wand, its body of flames thrashing rhythmically. Scaly flesh combusted and crackled, all in silence, one after the other, and each snake dived headfirst longingly with jaws unhinged, for the statues and for the patronus, to devour it whole if caught until even the serpentine fire burst to ash and withered into nothing. Which would leave only Ronyo to Tay...

He knew this day would come, they both had, but would never have guessed it’d come so soon. He was wounded, and that much was evident in his lackluster and struggling stance now perched. Blood dotted him like dirt, muddled and it was hard to discern which was what. His black robes were strangled around him in frayed fabrics, touched by fire and kissed with explosions.

Time seemed to stand still, when really, he was running through it at full speed.” Ignus flagellum,” he decreed, snapped his wrist as the whip manifested and cackled. A limp leg, he pushed himself forward and stumbled straight witho no fear hiding in trenchant golden pools, only stagnant poison. He snapped his wrist again and sent his whip threateningly from one side to another as a parry left from right, shielding himself with the hindrance of fire. If this was how he wanted to die, he wouldn’t steal it from him. A cocked brow and the tilt of his head called, ‘it’s your move,’ without ever uttering a word.

Ronyo Storm - Former Slytherin
Detective
Black Forest

As Ronyo watched the sudden appearance and summoning from his long time rival, Ronyo watched as Fire attacked stone and combusted in a rolling sea of growls and hisses, amplified five times over, and in the end silvery white slamming head long into angry red and pulsing out from the collision. Small chunks of burning stone came down from the debris sent into the air, like something of brimstone and ash from a horrible novel watching a disgruntled man beginning his trip down the many layers of hell. Ronyo sniffed and cracked his neck as he turned to regard Tay in full.

The young man called on his flaming whip and cracked it a few times to make the weapons capabilities known. The fiery flashing sonic boom that erupted from each snap extenuated the point that Tay was likely looking to make, warm up was over. Ronyo was feeling well enough thanks to adrenaline pumping through his veins, stopping his left shoulder from screaming in pain, it worked but likely only because Ronyo would hear nothing of it not. His side hurt, probably a rib was no longer just as it should be but that could be fought through as well. Cuts and bruises dotted the well toned arms and neck of the white haired detective as well, but they were nothing more than scratches right now. The emerald orbs locked on to the ones of gold, like lightning and fire slamming into one another without a second thought.

Turning things up

"Now that the warm ups done, let's do this right!"

Ronyo snapped his wrists and called on his lightning blade spell once again to emulate over his wands and turn them into something more. They both could cast without the wands, cast enough spells to not worry about the need for high accuracy with what was coming. A deep breath was let out from the dragon of the house of green and silver as he readied to face the cunning basilisk more appropriately emplaced the in the same house. Then with a growl Ronyo turned his footing and slammed his hands to the ground to cast a repulsing charm to send the white haired warrior in a head on collusion with the bull dog. No apparating meant Ronyo would have to resort to getting close now, and looking to lash one of his electric blades across Tay. He feared not the whip, and was more than ready to take a blow in his left arm to allow his right a clear strike. If the battle appeared to be brutal before it was about to get turned up.

Cold, numb, dead. He felt it now, the shock. It’d always been there since he’d been struck. His heart nearly stopped, even when his eardrums burst and even now, they still rang and rang. His heart barely beat and then all at once, it surged with rapid fire succession in cardiac arrhythmia. Flames danced in the reflection of his eyes as the visual performance combusted with ash and debris, the remnants of stone dragons littered and the fiery serpents vanished into a wisp. He smelt it, now, because he surely never noticed it before. Charred melted flesh; it fought everything in him not to daunt an imposing stare on his left leg, where the cloth of his pants leg were smothered and frayed where it crawled up his knees as lightning bolt burns carved in his limbs. His shoe had melted, it was gone, but the goo was burnt and it clung to his bleeding feet where third degree burns ensnared him at the entry point of the high voltage, and again at the exit point, his knee. The blood was a thick current sliding down his leg, and he couldn’t stand on it at all, he couldn’t even move it, if he tried.

He was lucky, though, and he knew it. The mass of the current struck in and out without ever firing in his brain, melting its nerves to chaos. Something had, because he felt the explosion in his mind and the deafening ringing in his ears. Ronyo moved his lips to speak, but Tay couldn’t hear and he couldn’t have even been sure if it was a spell that he was reciting or not. But then the murderous cackles of those blades were summoned and the electricity arched into one another; he felt a sense of dread wash over. But he knew what he had to do. Ronyo rammed forward, just as he hoped and Tay snapped his wand, unleashing his whip in a parry left to right around the waist—except when he shot it out, this time, it shot out. The whip snapped off of the end of his wand and lurched forward like a writhing chain of fire to wrap around the dragon, but that’s all it would do, trip him up and flail from the kinetic force that pushed it forward and nothing more. In that motion, Tay fell. His left leg completely gave out and wouldn’t bear to pretend to stabilize his weight, not now. He dropped down to one knee and in one fluid motion, his heart beat deafening in his ears nearly bleeding for redemption, he screamed out, ”—aguamenti!”

With the thrust of his wand, a thick jet of icy blue water erupted from the mahogany tip with a powerful force aimed right at his opponent. The water— if it wasn’t blocked— and the electricity —if it lingered— would clash in a powerful force with the voltage, arching and bursting and threatening to be grounded through the only way possible: Ronyo.

Ronyo Storm - Former Slytherin
Detective
Black Forest

Long time coming

Ronyo was ready to take the whip and the flames on his left arm, he was ready to bare the burn and then pull Tay in for the final blow, but he wasn't ready for the whip to be launched at him. The white haired detective growled at his stupidity for charging head on into the fight. This fight had brought out emotions he had pushed down for years and could no longer keep buried. All the things Ronyo had known Tay was responsible for and all the things he felt the bull dog had done even if he could not prove anything. Colton and Phi had both suffered at Tay's hands, and likely others too who were not as fortunate to survive the encounter. While he had helped with the rescue during the Family incident a single act of helpfulness did not erase a lifetime of bad deeds.

The flaming whip moved down and wrapped around Ronyo's feet entangling them in a fiery heap. The sly fox tripped and fell headlong from his initial charge. He managed to roll but the impact was still hard and the flaming whip was still burning his legs while wrapped around him. Ronyo was about to slash the burning tether when he heard Tay release a spell, one he was not ready for either. Ronyo managed to turn one of his wands off before the water slammed into him but Tay had acted swiftly and with cunning using a normally none lethal, and often times helpful, spell against Ronyo's love of electric attacks. The water acted as a conductor to send the electrical pulses through the young man's body and also push him further away. As Ronyo landed in a heap he could still feel his legs aching from the burns but only at points for parts were numb now. The water had put out the whip but that was only a small silver lining in the current situation. The combined impacts had done more damage to Ronyo's side, most certainly cracking a few more ribs, and now part of his side was numb from the electricity surge.

This had to end...Ronyo could see now that they could easily kill each other, but this needed to end now. With what strength he had left Ronyo raised both arms, his left was partially numb but he willed it to command. He couldn't judge the distance from his partially prone position but he hoped it was far enough to reduce the blast wave from what he had in mind. Ronyo grinned slightly as he thought about the moment and how he knew it would always have ended like this.

"CONFINGO! REDUCTO!"

Now dance, dance Man, he never had a chance

Michelle blinked in surprise as the darkness lifted and she saw multiple Tay's everywhere. It was obvious to her almost immediately that none of them were really him. If he was going to lay a bunch of decoys, he wouldn't pretend to be a decoy incase Ronyo did something like what he was doing right now. Tay wouldn't want to get caught in that.

With all the decoys gone, Michelle watched quietly for the next move. She rolled her eyes at Ronyo's explicit display of his dragons. The man always seemed to be trying to prove that he was a dragon stuck in a house of snakes. It was annoying at times. She didn't move though, she stayed crouched, hidden behind the boulders, and just praying that Tay or Ronyo didn't try and explode them. Silver eyes watched the reappearance of Tay and his blow to the dragons Ronyo had conjured.

The whip of fire crackled and burned in the air but Michelle didn't dare turn her attention to Ronyo. She was instead, assessing the damage done to Tay. She could tell it wasn't good. Her snake had been wounded badly by Ronyo's electricity and she could feel the anger smoldering in her chest. Tay was quick though and in within moments he had sent Ronyo's electricity right back at him, and dropped to his knee.

Only then did silver dare to flicker onto the Dragon. His brash declaration of the spells was the only thing that told Michelle he had been hurt badly as well. Besides the fact that the detective was now cradled on the ground on his side.

Silently the girl flicked her fingers and cast a spell to protect Tay. It wasn't time to reveal herself quite yet, but he was going to get himself killed if he kept it up like this.
'Protego.' The shield came into place infront of Tay, hopefully keeping him out of harms way for the moment.

Wandless, silent magic had become Michelle's best friend, especially with her affinity to the shadows and hiding. She needed a distraction while she thought of a better way to help Tay, and the only distraction she could think of was... actually quite fitting. Ronyo had used dragons to protect himself... so why not snakes to distract him?
'Serpensortia. Serpensortia. Serpensortia' She repeated the mantra over and over in her head, flicking her thumb with each cast of the spell. With each spell, a snake appeared on the ground, slithering quickly and angrily towards Ronyo. All were vying to attack.

With a thousand lies, and a good disguiseஐ
Hit ‘em right between the eyesஐ
When you walk away, nothing more to sayஐ
See the lightning in your eyes. See ‘em running for their lives

Adrenaline coursed, enacted from the nerve and burst within every synapse as it travelled from brain to muscle, purging the enemy of weakness from his system as he fought, at least, until now. Teeth grinded and his vision dotted from the pain, the ringing in his ears was thundering from the blast of energy that nearly blew out the drums. Pain had trickled, slow and weak, it was a crack in the dam and now that he had the grace of hope that this would be over, the dam broke. It stormed over him and dragged him down, Hell’s hounds howled for him in his brain and he could feel their claws in his leg that threatened him sanctity. Sanctity in death, which he would not take. He growled, and let loose, a small roar burst vessels in his neck and muscles tensed, shuddering with pain. It was ripping him in pieces, he could feel it, the memory of it down into his bones; it was there.

Across the field, the slash of smoldering gray wilted in plume and swelled into a miasma of smoke and steam. The fire was extinguished, the water doused him and the cackle of electricity had ceased. Tay growled, his fingers caught the dirt under his nails to keep from losing what little balance he had sustained. Right then, he saw the motions stirring in his opponent. Two palms extended from the distance, and Tay’s mahogany wand brandished into the air in perfect rhythm. ”EXPULSO! DEPRIMO!” He surged with vehemence, merely moments before Michelle had reached him, and unbeknownst to him, her shield charm manifested at the break of impact.

BOOM! A glow of colors birthed into the womb, and then a bright blinding light; the explosion. The sharp, immediate increase of temperature caused by Ronyo’s violet spell combusted with Tay’s surge of pressure that exploded, the both combined sent shock waves of force flying in all directions. Leaves, dirt clods, stone, and, serpents were all thrust away in the wake of the explosion as smoke smothered the area, smoke and dust and dirt and rock. But he didn’t have time to dwell on the appearance of those snakes, because, not a mere second later, the next series of spells battered in unison. The bright blue burst of the reductor curse clashed with the violence of the deprimo curse, the sudden downward pressure caused both spells to skyrocket into the earth and bombard within. A thick, deafening explosion pulled young trees from their roots and threw them backwards, a deep crater covered the floor of the forest, deep chasms in a sharp crevasse zigzagged the floor from where the rock was torn and thrown into the sky. Tay threw his arms up to shield his eyes from the light, from the ripping rock and torn sedimentary as the clay and soil thrashed in the cataclysm. The shield charm had taken most of the impact of the scattering debris and explosion, but the sheer force of it all had still thrown him back hundreds of meters into the dark forest. His body smoldered and bled.

Ronyo Storm - Former Slytherin
Detective
Black Forest

The sudden cacophony of sound and sundering force of pressure from the four spells meeting and colliding sent cascading waves of energy through the air. It was as if everything was suddenly moving in a slower speed from its original tempo. Rocks and earth flew in all directions with enough force to tear into trees yards away and send them along for the ride. The under soil was wet from the general climate of the Black Forest and wet sticky under soil stuck to everything, but then was peeled away in the same moment from the force of the blast.

The catastrophic explosion had startled Ronyo and before he could erect his electric shield the sound waves slammed into him moments before the pressure waves which picked him off his feet and hurtled him through the sky. In those brief moments before Ronyo's center of balance was thrown completely for a loop, the detective watched his opponent always be sent flying from the blast, along with several odd serpents that he had not noticed beforehand. The image was only slight and with the sudden rush of wind there was no time to reflect more on the sight. Then as suddenly as time seemed to have slowed its pace it resumed in full crashing speed. Through trees, bushes, and loose rocks Ronyo was flung into. Tumbling every few feet only to again cover distance in the air and then again bounce onto the earth. Finally with a thud the white haired detective landed in a heap as dust and debris covered him and assailed him more. Everything was ringing, everything was a blur, and all thoughts were slammed together without any single line of understanding to hold on to. Ronyo's mind did the only thing it could do in such chaos, it shut off. Darkness came and consciousness fled from the young man only to return once his mind was recovered and his body began to calm down.

Okay so... protego wasn't her best idea, but she had been thinking fast and there wasn't much else she could do besides jump infront of the spells herself. The spells ricocheted off the shield and each other and all the snake could do was curl her body into herself as she was thrown back by the curses as well. She just barely kept her mouth clamped shut as she slammed into a couple trees that hadn't been ripped free of the ground.

She distinctly heard something in her arm snap, and was immediately glad of her past. The other 2 seemed not have noticed her presence yet, and she was by now very used to breathing through her nose and keeping all her pain clammed up in her body. She forced the air in and out of her body several times to calm her racing heart and push the pain deep into her mind. With her breathing evening out, Michelle stumbled to her feet and slid through the shadows, wincing as the movement jarred whatever broken bone she now had.

Quickly and easily, the girl reached the bleeding, scorched and broken body of her personal snake. She sighed and crouched down next to him, poking him with her uninjured arm a couple times.
"If you don't get up, I'll beat your a** with a stick." She muttered more to herself than to him. Silver eyes darted to the opponent, fingers ready flick spells at him if need be. To the best of her knowledge she was still mostly in the shadows. Tay had managed to land in a heavily treed and thus heavily shaded area where the silver snake could easily blend in with her natural habitat.

She poked the man a couple more times, annoyed with his continued silence. She rolled her eyes before bouncing from the balls of her feet to her full height. She easily found a broken piece of wood that could pass as a stick and was back crouched at his side.
"Get up." She warned, hefting the branch in her arm threateningly. It was honestly her only means of getting his butt off the ground at the moment. Even though beating him... probably wasn't her best idea. Then again neither was that shield and her snakes had done little to nothing... although the ones that had survived the blast were congregating and moving slowly towards Ronyo once again. That was one plus.

With a thousand lies, and a good disguiseஐ
Hit ‘em right between the eyesஐ

Dark clouds rolled in their quaking thunder and hid the starry night sky beneath its black face. Smoke churned from him, he was in ruins. The stench of burnt flesh flooded his airways, it was thick as smog. Dried blood caked his pale flesh, and streams of the red viscous still poured from his knee and his foot, where the brute of the force of electricity had stolen him. Tay laid cold, stock still and nearly frozen on the cool, damp ground puddled in blood. The debris kicked up in the breeze, and the dust still hung ominous in the air from the battle. The earth was split, and somewhere across the chasm, his opponent was lifeless.

"Get up." She warned him, but he couldn’t hear her. The incessant echo rang in his ears, high pitched and undying. He could feel it in his head, every burst in his ears gave way to a sonic boom thrashing in his mind, mercilessly throttling his sense of sanity until the senses were so dull from the pain, that it faded away gently. Half lidded eyes rolled into the back of his head, the gold iris recoiled back into the darkness, back into the cold embrace that had been sewn for him, time and time again. He was slipping away…

                                                    ~*~
”The veil of something dark and forbidden has its thrills." burnt green eyes shadowed in darkness came to light in his eyes. ”There are some places were only dark things can thrive.” The whispered hiss echoed into the belly of the beast. ”Basics, then?” She had asked, a dusted tome sparked in the darkness of his vision. ”You have of course read this, Mr. Nott, and in it you have found them stating that the most achievable road to successful Transfiguration is that of complete understanding of your two desired transformed objects. However, I have found this can extend in thought. What needs to be focused on in complete concentration of understanding is not only the source object and the manipulated object. Knowing their every edge, element and flaw and feature grants you the ability to alter them to your will, yes. However, what you should also pay heed to is the possibility found in them. What you can make from each flaw and detail rather than just what you are making.

“The possibilities of power are even greater than the power itself.”
She had told him once, so many years ago.

” ”So power is a trick,” he interjected, his mind reeling, ”just a tool? I was always taught that power reflected differently upon every person, that, in the end, it meant only as much, or as little, as the fear in your opponent.

“Is that the same then? Evolving? Adapting to your opponents fears as you would to an objects make-up; manipulating what you can?”

"Exactly a tool - power can come to anyone who truly wants it. Regardless of whatever heroic or demonic or inspiring ways by which he gained it, any one can in truth. Just as anyone could buy a pair of golden sheers if they save their money long enough. Power is a flimsy thing. In examples both from the wizarding and the filthy muggle world, you see that those great persons that receive of take power can just as easily lose or break it.

                                                    "Even things of gold break."
She had whispered, the wind of her voice another blade in the war.
                                                    *~*

Eyes of wretched gold snapped open, and he lurched upright, fingers digging into the moist dirt floor to steady himself. Cast in molten jewels and gems, the precious ore of gold shone even in the oblique darkness, glittered with wet tears that would never fall. Wide eyed and doleful, he stared at Michelle, horror struck. His flesh was pale and the color was drained, the bitter reflection of a ghost haunted his memories. He didn’t know what had trickled those memories, but they were ever present in his cognitive pulse. ”—“ His lips parted to speak, but, not a sound permeated the air.

The slow seconds dropped like pebbles in the sea, the ripples faded in time only to stretch dormant in the glassy surface of the pond. His throat was dry, thick with the heave of a gulp that just wouldn’t go down. But soon, none of it mattered anymore. He was awash with pain; it doused his taut muscles and bare flesh where the garment had been burnt. It throttled in his head, and the ringing resurfaced from the depths and ached in tumult in his ears. Titillating incisions crawled up and down his flesh, coated in blood, fresh and dried. His left leg was entirely numb, he couldn’t even feel the sting of pain anymore—it simply would not respond, much to his horror. Slick fingers traced his leg, agonizingly slow. Chipped nails pricked the unbroken flesh, but he couldn’t feel it. He traced the bolts of lightning carved in his flesh; the lines were stark pale in complexion. ”….I can’t feel it.” His panic began at a slow winding crawl. ”I can’t feel. I can’t feel it all. I-I I can’t hear..” He winced, the ringing was relentless, and he found all he wanted to do was sleep. He cowered, fingers filling his ears to try and stop the sound, but the it only made it worse and he swayed back and forth. But, even that was too much, and he began to convulse, his muscles writhed, struggling to bear so much pain without shutting down entirely.

Michelle frowned as he still did not get up. That worried her. The branch fell from pale cut up fingers. Just as suddenly, he scrabbled at the ground, lurching up, and Michelle fell backwards onto her a**, narrowing silver at him in annoyance as shards of something dug into the flesh of her thighs. The ground was littered with the aftermath of their stupid little duel and he was obviously no okay. All in all, the silver serpent was not pleased in the slightest. It had all been for nothing.

The look on her face softened though at the expression written in gold. The girl slid forward, being careful to jostle her shattered arm as little as possible.
"Tay?" Her voice a bare whisper. She had seen him strong, angry, wounded, annoyed, even scared, but he looked... utterly defeated. He looked terrified and absolutely out of control. Honestly... it scared her to see him like that. Out of everyone in her life, he was the one to always have an idea, always have it together, always be there for her..... What the hell was she supposed to do now?

"Can't feel it?" She asked in confusion, but the only answer he gave was to go into a panic and start screaming. Pale fingers reached up, gently touching his face, trying to get him to look at her calm down. It was to no avail though; he just continued to freak out. Michelle had very little patience as it was, but when she was scared that went from little to zero. Pale fingers wound back and smacked across her face. "Pull yourself together and explain to me exactly why you're screaming like a bloody mad man!" She shouted at him.

Silver eyes drew wide as he started... seizing? Seriously how the hell was she supposed to handle this? She wasn't a healer! She hadn't ever even taking healing classes (which she honestly was now starting to regret). She grabbed his shoulders, trying to help, but having no clue how to help. She couldn't even apparate them away seeing as she was one, still underage, and two had heard him place the anti-disapparation jinx on the entire place.

"Tay...." His name came out as a choked whisper; tears pricked at the corners of her eyes, and she looked up at the sky, trying to pull herself together to think clearly. She had to figure out how to help. She couldn't just sit by and be useless. She could never do that. She hated feeling helpless... but she didn't know how to help.

With a thousand lies, and a good disguise

"Tay? A meteorite in the back of his mind, her voice lingered in zero gravity, lost in the outer space of his thoughts. Stars burned out one by one, each one a caustic lullaby. Songs of the forlorn and the damned rang in toxic melody, and it drowned out the world into its black hole. The cosmic rays aligned, and in the oblique pitch, he saw the silver lining. He saw her. Wide, livid eyes struggled, searched her irises of silver that were so bittersweet in his memories. "Can’t feel it?” An asteroid belt, the ringing bashed into him from every direction. Her voice echoed, and her words were a dull and distant roar.

His breathing raced, hurried, overlapped itself and struggled to gain ahold. He was hyperventilating, fingers twisting in the dangling charred ruins just wishing for the pain to reach him. His heart hammered, his muscles wouldn’t cease. They clamored and raged; the veins threaded thick in his flesh like serpents. A faint murmur whispered, his dulled senses had hardly taken notice of the banshee in his ears until it was too late. But he couldn't feel it! He couldn't feel anything! Was it numb? Was it dead? Was he damned to live like this?

                                                    Slap!

His vision flashed, his neck snapped. A full circle his face had turned; the red imprint stung on his cheek. His features were cast in the shadows and his head hung low, and he never moved. The swell of pain on his cheek beat in rhythmic harmony with the abrasions of his eardrums. The splitting migraine was overpowering every nerve and synapse. Slowly, his fingers slick with red left bloody imprints on his cheek. The welt was bare, but it was there. He turned to her with malice laced in poison. He still couldn’t hear her though, it was impossible.

But he knew, he knew. The pain was riddled in the creases under her brow, in the wrinkles under her eyes and the accusation in her pursed lips. Gold eyes sought answers in hers, sought for anything other than the wild desperation that was there, but it would all be in vain. His breathing was still heaving, calmer now at least, but strained to death, nonetheless. His muscles slowed to a tight shiver. Empty eyes broke contact as he searched, wide fingers outstretched as they clumsily fumbled for his wand. The strain of pressure, leaning so far to one side to catch his rolling wand was too much, and he leaned over far, farther, too far, and into the dirt once more. He hissed, falling heavily onto his back and spine, the rippling pain radiated in his every wound. His vision was blurring, it became distorted with dots and was quickly fading into translucent colors. And then, he snatched up a tiny pebble in his hand, pressed his wand to it and murmured, ”portus,” ever so quietly.

Gold eyes rolled into the back of his head just then, and he slumped back down, unconscious, too exhausted to carry on.

She was just full of good ideas today it seemed. Slapping him probably wasn't helping whatever it was he was going through, but if it wasn't already apparent, Michelle's head was not on straight at the moment. The welt left on his cheek from her fingers looked painful, although she highly doubted it could be more painful than his electrocuted leg, and other wounds, of which there were many. God she was pissed... the stupid boys were acting like toddlers. They didn't like each other so they just had to duel it out right? Almost kill each other right? She swore if she hadn't followed them and stepped in at that moment... they very well might have killed each other... or at least one of them would be dead.... Come to think of it Michelle hadn't seen Ronyo move. She wasn't actually quite sure he was still alive at the moment. It wasn't of her concern though right now, because her idiot was barely alive, and now....

Well now he quite certainly pissed at her for slapping him. But who wouldn't be? She'd kill someone for slapping her when she half alive. She really was useless wasn't she? She couldn't even help him. She didn't know how. She didn't know a s**t thing about how to fix this, him, everything. She should have stopped the two before they battled it out. It probably would have been better that way... but something had told her to just let it be. They were going to fight sooner or later... she had preferred the idea of her being around for it at the very least. So she let the damn toddlers fight it out and now she hoped they were good. And she hoped Ronyo wasn't dead. And she hoped she could figure out how to help Tay.

Michelle barely heard the muttered spell. She definitely didn't understand what'd he had said. All she saw was him rolling back into unconciousness and.... a glowing pebble in his hand.... A portkey? She scooted as close to him as she possibly could and gently lifted his head into her lap; Michelle sought to hold onto the little shred of sanity and logic she still held onto at the moment. Her healthy arm reached out to his hand, sliding her fingers into his so they both were holding onto the portkey. Without even having to blink or think for a second, she trusted Tay to bring them somewhere safe.... although it seemed every time she went with him anywhere they ended up somewhere unfamiliar to her.

With a thousand lies, and a good disguise
Hit ‘em right between the eyes
When you walk away, nothing more to say
See the lightning in your eyes. See ‘em running for their lives

Ronyo Storm - Former Slytherin
Detective
Black Forest

Awaken

Thump thump...

Thump thump......

Thump thump.........

THUMP! THUMP!

Eyes opened in a sudden moment of energy that had the man buried under a few feet of earth seem to erupt from a shallow grave. His hand went to his heart that seemed like it wanted to pound out of his chest and his breathing was heavy while his lips were rough and dry. In tongue tried to lick them but the sudden sensation of dirt on his tongue brought him to the current matter of where he was and what was going on.

Looking around the young man suddenly looked down and saw he was still holding on to his wands like they were a part of him. His knuckles were white and palms aches from the pressure being applied. Without thinking his hands moved and placed his wands in their respected holsters and the practiced motion suddenly sparked the pain raging over his body. Now fully aware of his injuries the man fell back down to the dirt he had sprung from and winced as he felt the stabbing pain in his side, his feet, shoulder, and head. He knew he had broken ribs but not how many, his shoulder felt dislocated...or broken he couldn't really tell with the pain, his feet ached and were also numb at the same time. His head pulsed with the constant barrage of mental relays telling him he was in pain, he was in danger, and that he needed to get away.

Yes he needed to get away from where he was. The fight was clearly over with no clear winner that could be seen right now. Ronyo was alive but that was all he knew, if Tay was alive so be it and if he was dead then he would give his proper respects to the man who fought so hard today. Regardless he needed to leave this place before anything else happened. So much energy being unleashed could bring the Ministry or at the least curious passer bys. He could not disapparate though as the enchantment still lingered in the air to stop such things. He could only leave one way but he hardly had the energy to walk and he had no idea if his feet would respond correctly as it felt like pins and needles sticking out of them and a larger knife in his thighs.

His hand clawed out and grabbed hold of the earth and he pulled. His hands went over each other each time as he continued to pull himself along the broken ground. Every now and then he fell into a small crater from the debris falling back to the ground and impacting it with force. Those times were helpful and harmful. As the rolling tended to gain him more ground but he caused himself more pain with it. Slowly but surely Ronyo crawled his way along the Black Forest in the direction he could only decide was away from the direction Tay was thrown.

As he crawled the young man's mind went back and forth with several things he now had to think about. Currently he needed someone to treat his wounds. Who could he go to that would tend to him without taking him to the Hospital at first? Why did he want to avoid the hospital? Probably because he would have to say why he was in such bad shape, and as much as Ronyo wanted to say he was attacked by a dark wizard, which was somewhat true, he could not dishonor Tay like that. The man was his enemy but the man still had his respect if nothing else but from this battle. Phi was his first thought but he had not heard from her in months, so if he managed to apparate to her shop he could just lay there until he died. Who else could treat injuries? Belle? She was a duelist and a former teammate, she could be trusted with not going to the authorities but could she tend to severe injuries without needing help? Remy...could the young pup help with her potions, or help by getting Jason? Jason would be the last to go to the authorities over anything so that part was good but he wasn't sure he could push his favors with the alpha.

While his mind raced on about who to go to, which he had plenty of time to think on as he would be crawling for who knows how long to escape the radius of the spell. His mind also thought about the battle he just fought and the results in the end. Had he lost? Could he have done more, should he have done more in the fight? Could he have truly killed Tay? The spells he fired were ones that had they connected would have killed him, but Ronyo knew the bull dog would not die so easily and if he did then he really wasn't the rival, the foe Ronyo thought he was. Could he have killed Tay, not just emotionally but was his skill enough to have done it if it had come to that? What if Tay had been going after a friend, what if it was another enemy stronger than Tay, one less carrying than even the golden eyed demon of Slytherin. Could Ronyo have stopped him, could Ronyo have stopped his friends from dieing? He didn't know, but what he did know was once he got out of that forest and could stand on his own two feet again, he was going to make sure he could.

Darius walked through the forest, his eyes looking about as he recalled the last time he was here. Virgil, and Jaslyn, and a lot of anger and hate boiling over to cause his half-sister to be seriously harmed, and his half-brother to descend into insanity. At least, that's what it seemed like. Virgil had always treated him badly, yes, but the strangeness of what had been transpiring with his half-brother... He didn't know what to think of it.

However, he was here because of a letter he had received from a former team-mate. Eretria Whitethorne, who he had sworn hated his guts or something, had sent a letter to him requesting to meet him here. Which was odd. He wasn't considering going into quidditch, and from what he knew, she was the quidditch vice-captain for England. He stuffed his hands into his pockets, eyeing the clearing. Nothing of this meeting made sense, and he wondered if the former Slytherin was planning something malicious. She wasn't the nicest person, he knew that for a fact, considering that she regularly threatened the first years during her time in the school. Still, she never payed him any attention, making him wonder what exactly she was planning.

He was about to give up the wait when he heard a slight popping sound from behind him. He turned around, expecting to see Eretria, and instead, he caught sight of his crimson-eyed brother. His eyes narrowed, and he wondered if this was even set up by Whitethorne at all. Drawing his wand, he nearly growled in the back of his throat.
"Virgil. What are you doing here? Deciding that attacking me once wasn't bad enough, you had to go for a second time? No one else is coming, and I doubt you'll get far."
