Their ××××××××××××××××Their sizes range from small baby salamander to large spiky dragonthing. Her control of these 'puppets' increases as she gains ××××××××××××××××more experience- on a good day they latch onto things and set them on fire, on a bad day you'd just see a couple of small××××××××××××××××salamanders running around in circles while Vieve flails her arms, trying to get them to do things. These salamanders are rather ××××××××××××××××susceptible to water-based attacks. If splashed, they turn into useless piles of ash, leaving Vieve pretty much defenseless××××××××××××××××natural ability × fire××××××××××××××××Vee can create a bit of fire, like a tiny fireball. At nights she sleeps in her natural form, a fire-elemental, in the fireplace; ××××××××××××××××her skull pin is usually left close enough for her to reach out and grab it. Imagine Calcifer from Howl's Moving Castle, that's××××××××××××××××more or less what Vieve looks like when she's sleeping. How are they different from ghosts, though? It's ××××××××××××××××simple: while ghosts are made up of ectoplasm, elementals are made up of.. elements! So salamanders are essentially××××××××××××××××flames in the shape of a dragonlike creature. Considering that elementals are largely non-corporeal, what gives a salamander××××××××××××××××its distinct dragonlike shape is its heart. Different fire elementals have different types of hearts, and salamanders typically××××××××××××××××have crystalline (think rubies) hearts. Baby salamanders vaguely resemble this in terms of body shape, though the features××××××××××××××××themselves are quite different. Mostly, salamanders are kind of spiky, and really really hot.××××××××××××××××home is.. × habitat××××××××××××××××Salamanders usually live in hot places, such as volcanoes. While they can survive fine in active volcanoes, dormant volcanoes××××××××××××××××are typically considered prime real estate, as there is less disruption to daily life. While salamanders prefer hot places, though, they can survive fine in other areas, the exceptions being cold/wet××××××××××××××××areas. It's just that salamander××××××××××××××××society (within a clan) is usually very close-knit, and wanting to leave forever feels like a sort of betrayal. It's not to say, however, that you can punch a salamander or steal something and expect him to still be happy- while××××××××××××××××they're all for celebrating things, they usually have a strictly enforced moral code, and you might find the whole clan coming after××××××××××××××××you. tl;dr salamander vs. salamander is a no-go, but salamander vs anything else?
