Questing art can be hard work and a bit on the frustrating side.... What are some of the reasons that artists would tell you is the reason they wouldn't draw you/your OC/etc? If your an artist what things would limit who/what you would draw?

I'd have to say I hate cluttered things, or things that don't look easy on the eyes. xD I also dn't like drawing spikes because I'm still learning how to make them look ok. I dont like dresses because for me they are hard, and I Don't like overly simple things as much because they are boring
But honestly I think the most common thing an artist would say is "Ugly or cluttered" XD

Lol, yeah most people don't like cluttered. I've only met 2 people that have told me they actually like cluttered XD;;
Mm, things that require perspective is always tricky so I can see why you wouldn't want to draw them.
Lol, yeah.... things being visually attractive is always a plus.
:O How come the dresses are hard for you? The ruffles and such?

It's all those crazy folds. If it is a dress like what you'd see from back in the day I may be able to do it since they have ruffles and s**t that go in other directions, but in general they just confuse me x_x
Maybe cause im a dude and I don't wear them, so I have no idea?

XD;; *pats* Yeah, the drapery of cloth can be a bit complicated. Trying to find the right reference is also hard D:
So is it easier for you to draw men than women?

Mostly some artist tell me that i'm too hard to draw because my avi is male and they prefer girls.That or they say i'm too cluttered.When i use to do commissions i would mostly do clutter because i hated it when the request was too simple.For simple one's i only doodled it and for more cluttered ones i would put more of an effort into making it look good.I don't know why i don't like simple request...

For avatars it would have to be too much clutter or layers
For OCs..hmm, I prefer female over male chars but I will draw males. I tend to decide request by request, there isn't much I've turned down so far.

For Oc's I generaly like to see sketchs of the character already, I personnaly don't like reading a small novel to know what the character looks like in fine details, I'd rather have a template that exist already before doing it. So I'd say that would be a limitation on my behalf, it wouldn't stop me from drawing it, but it would discourage me from trying if I had to read all the text of an OC character to know how to draw them.
As for avis, I think creativity play's in important part for me. If an avi is to boring and not really interesting or has a nice colour combo or well.. is just plaine and average, it tends to be less exciting to work on, and for me drawing usually takes a while. Several sittings to be exact. And to work on the same drawing several times and the avi isen't even interesting.... its not worth it.
I think when I asked someone to draw me, I've only been turned down once, and it was because I wanted a flame looking creature, and the persone I asked didn't feel comfortable drawing fire, and rather stick to drawing normal skined characters, which I can understand, its not everyones cup of tea neither.

I personally like lots of intricacies, but over the top s**t like insane hairstyles and...just really ugly designs and concepts turn me off instantly. I like originality and simple, yet complex things if that makes sense? Well anyways, I'd rather draw a cluttered avatar than a cliche'd naruto OC if that makes sense.

i have to be honest and say that females are easier for me to draw than males, but it wouldn't keep me from trying!!
well.... unless they were wearing suites.... don't ask me why, but i could draw you the most rugged, funky lookin' cloth'd man before i could draw you a dapper dood in a suite. V . V;;;

Koi: Ooooh, nice nice. You have a nice art style :3
Thief: XD;; Yes, I've noticed that majority of artists prefer to draw females. It's good that you like challenges, it'll only make you better by tackling them 3nodding
Nitta: *nods* So the story or details are taken into consideration, that's good :3
Kai: Ffff, yeah, totally understand that... when I see giant blocks of text I can't seem to focus what I'm reading.... XD; Ah, you've been very lucky with your art requests then to only be turned down once :O
Ichi: Totally makes sense. I feel the same way about avi's as well, haha. I don't like how some people add something overly complicated for no other reason than they just think it's cool and makes their character seem bad a**.... OTL;
Om: It's good that you don't set limitations for yourself 3nodding XD Haha, no totally understand. It always seems to be easier to draw something messy then something crisp and clean.... and besides, who can resist a rugged man ;D

  Bald. So many times I want to bid on some art or buy art and in their wont area is bald. Why?! gonk Bald is such a time saver compared to complicated hair. And I will draw about everything. My wont area just consist of furries with beaks (birds and dragons).

well in my case it would either depend on when ever the OC avatar inspires me or if they have reference picture instead of description. I dont like working with things that dont really inspired me cause honestly i would end up doing a crappy work and i dont want that and description are hard since they always end up looking really different from what there creater imagen them aas

Shiver: XD;;; *pats* I'm gonna guess cause it's drawing a bald head is awkward for them? With hair it can hide a misshaped head so a nicely shaped head can be complicated.... well... this is just a theory... or perhaps they just consider it to be unattractive? Ah yeah, animals can be complicated, the perspective for their muzzles and beaks can be hard to figure out.
Luz: *nods* Totally understandable. And that's one of my reasons for not wanting to draw from a description as well XD;; References are much better to work off of.
