On Mother's Day I found Houlihan, my female Asian Long Tailed Grass Lizard, dead in their tank. I don't know what happened. She seemed very healthy, and her mate, Hawkeye seems healthy still. I cried. My family knows me well enough not to say "it's just a lizard" but to instead just say "oh, I am sorry!" but it was still a hard day.
Houlihan was a good girl. She wasn't quite as tame as the boys have been, but she was still pretty easy to hold and show to kids. They were always impressed with what a long tail she had. She was a really active hunter, too, LEAPING after crickets with wild abandon.
Houlihan, you will be missed, dear lady. RIP.
