They're all amazing! mrgreen Much better than anything I can take, lol.
And yes. That basically always happens to me. I'll plan out a project or picture in my head, and it always comes out different. Usually worse than what I imagined, but sometimes better.

Meh, they can't all go great. At least you managed to salvage what you did. And I do happen to like the second very much. I find it pretty intriguing.

You need to practise balancing your light, perhaps even bracketing your shots.
Also, if you're gonna shoot water, you might want to invest in a circular polariser to kill off the nasty water shine and deepen the sky.
Try not to crop in so tightly as well.

On the Wirral, where I live. 3 in a town called West Kirby and 2 on Thurstaton Hill.

yes there a little average, but there still lovely : 3 I really love how the 3rd one came out, the contrast of the bright sky vs. the dark land underneath ^^

One of my favorite things in a picture is when clouds are darker on the bottom while the top is outlined with a brighter white. It might not seem like much, but for some reason I think it gives them a cool effect. That alone, to me, is very eye catching. 3nodding
