Well, I thought it would be interesting to see what kind of music people like.
I personally love Joe Hisaishi's work (he does music for Miyazaki films).
I prefer instrumental over modern pop-culture. I shudder at Justin Beiber and Lady Gaga. What happened to Gentleman Googoo? XP
I love Sara Bareilles. Anything done by her is my feel-good music. If I'm feeling crappy and I'm not in the mood for happy-cheer songs, I go to her music because they talk about conflict in the softest of ways. It's normally through one person's point of view and with her incredible voice the theme is delivered quite well in my opinion.
I have to say I do not enjoy most rap songs. I have heard seldom few that I've liked.
Older music from movies in the 1950s are really good too. I have seen seldom few from that era, but I love the style of older songs.
So, what do you listen to?

I personally listen to anything and everything on this planet. Except jazz. And Justin Beiber.
My favorite band is Dirty Heads, they're my feel good music (along with Ziggy Marley, Bob Marley, and Jack Johnson), and my favorite female singer is LIGHTS. I also like Damien Rice, anything by Joe Hisashi or Bruno Coulais, and Iron and Wine.
