That's cool. I agree with neon, showing him around town is a good idea if you're hanging out outside of school. Otherwise french is also a good class for communication. Is that the only class you have with him? |

To be honest, your best bet would have been to have been seated next to him. That way, either him or you will have to start a conversation, and you'd be less shy around him.
The only thing I can say is to just get up and ask him some things. Questions do not require you to contribute anything to conversation, and it lets you learn more about him while you get used to him. If you can relate to one of the answers, take a short conversation from there. If the conversation trails off, avoid awkward silence by asking a few more questions.
How do you not look like an idiot asking the questions? Think about them beforehand, and memorize 1O of them. If you can find nothing to relate to in 1O questions, then it's just physical attraction, and not worth your time unless you were only really in it for the sex. If that's the case, just stare at him while making longing faces and rubbing against your desk, and just leave a slip of paper with your phone number on it on his desk before class. I've seen guys sleep with worse for less. Try to do it when the teacher isn't watching, though. xd
Anyways, to not look like and idiot while asking: ask the questions like you're generally interested (and MEMORIZE them; do NOT read them off of a sheet of paper!). Smiling/laughing helps to relieve tension, so you can not only feel less socially awkward, you can also look like you have a pleasant and upbeat personality.
