... Weird question, I know. Just hear me out --
So, I keep seeing more & more sign shops all over the place. I feel like for the longest time there were always so very few of them, & now all of a sudden the Personalized Graphics forum (in the Mini-shops forums) has twice as many sign shops as it does shops that actually sell graphics.
Anyway, I'm legitimately confused by why they're so popular. Why on earth would somebody pay so much damn gold (or any gold, for that matter) for a picture of a complete stranger holding up a piece of paper with some words in their handwriting. What do people do with those signs? What are they used for? Why do so many people want that? In general... what the hell's the deal with them?
I feel like this is probably a "dumb question" or something, & if it is, that's more than okay with me; after all, if it's a dumb question, tons of people should be able to answer it :3

I fail to see the point in them,either. I mean, I could understand if you were making one for your own personal use, but for other people? It just doesn't make sense to me. >.<;;

It's an easy way to get gold and people actually pay for it because it makes them feel special.
I could care less personally, I had a friend draw me an animal holding a sign that reads "Deathgod of legend is awesome"
It's on my profile if anyone cares to see.
Signs like the one on my profile are actually worth buying because they take effort. rolleyes

Well, I definitely feel like there's a HUGE difference between signs people give to their friends as a present or whatever & "Sign Shops" with young girls selling "cleavage signs" for 500k upwards & that nonsense. Hell, I'VE made signs for some of my Gaia friends, often times like for their birthday or whatever, & I still think it was an awesome idea.
But... Did your friend actually make you pay for that sign? That's a bit... unfriendly =\

I could understand if a person drew you a sign, or made you a personal graphic (Digitally design signed)
But I agree on the complete stranger thing. That and couldn't the young girls selling cleavage shots be border-lining under age porn? Its not something people think about, but seriously. Why influence the users of gaia to take unsightly photo's of themselves?
Even some of the younger boys are taking shots from down lower and sending them out.
Does it amuse people to see how far others will go for some pixel gold? Set an amount and see how much of the body you can get as bare skin?
I mean come on! You pervs!
I have seen lots of shops and signs. And some of them I didn't need to see.
Personally, if a friend wanted to surprise me with a picture of them with a personal sign for a holiday event. That's fine.
But I will not pay for someone to expose themselves to me. I think its just wrong.
But then again. That's just my point/view/opinion on this all.

Lol, no it was free. I forget why but I think it was because I did something for her. Cleavage signs? Only a pervert would care to buy those when the internet itself is full of free porn, they probably just like to fantasize because the girl is underage which in turn, makes them perverted. neutral

I totally agree with you. I find signs completely useless...anyone can make a sign. Or, if not, get one of his/her friend's to make him/her a sign for free! :3
