Die Glocke: The Nazi Bell Project
History Records

One of the mystery's of World War II is that of the Nazi Bell. Not only the Bell, but the man who was in charge of the project Hans Kammler both disappeared from the face of the earth at
the end of the war.

The Nazi's were always interested in developing special weapons that they could use. The Bell was one of those projects. How important was the Bell project? It is said that Kammler had more than 60 scientists associated with the project executed to protect it's secrecy.

In 1945 Kammler had the Bell removed from its hidden tunnel on the Polish-Chech border and he and the Bell disappeared to never be seen again. It is said the Kammler had the Bell loaded onto a cargo plane and flown out to either South America or Antarctica.

During the Nuremberg trials, Kammler was hardly ever mentioned or brought up. Yet, he was considered one of Nazi Germany's vicious war criminals. Had Kammler made a deal with the United States? Some think he had made a deal just 6 days before the Russians over ran the secret tunnels that housed the Bell. Others believe that Kammler had the equipment and power to move anything quickly and secretly to wherever he wanted to go.

How could a man with such material just vanish? Why was he not sought after like Himmler or Eichmann?

In 1952 and again in 1953, George Adamski took photographs of an unknown group working in old and abandoned mineshafts with a device that looked very similar to the Nazi Bell. While the two witnesses were under hypnosis, they both claimed that the aliens they encountered looked like Nazi's in SS uniforms and yet did not look human. Science Fiction or fact? Nobody will ever know for sure.

Allegedly an experiment carried out by Third Reich scientists working for the SS in a German facility known as Der Riese ( "The Giant" ) near the Wenceslaus mine close to the Czech border, Die Glocke is described as metallic device approximately 9 feet wide and 12 to 15 feet high with a shape similar to a bell. It ostensibly contained two counter-rotating cylinders filled with a substance similar to mercury that the witness described, "glowed violet when activated, known only as Xerum 525", and speculated to be red mercury. The Witness describes Die Glocke as emitting strong radiation when active, an effect that supposedly lead to the death of several unnamed scientists and various plant and animal test subjects. He speculates that the ruins of a structure in the vicinity of the Wenceslas mine.

The year is 1967, and the world has become a post apocalyptic wasteland. Why? In 1964 the U.S. Government ordered a strike team to investigate who was operating at these stations. When they opened the mineshafts, it let loose hoards of zombies. Unable to contain them, the american government sent a nuke into germany, which unleashed a series of events that became an all out nuclear war. The Winter settled over the earth, as those that survived remain in the safety of tunnels, since the air on the surface has become too toxic to breath. Surviving the blast, and thanks to the spread of Xerum 525, Zombies run rampant. Humans have set outposts and colonies in the mineshafts and subway tunnels. Their Goal? Survival...

If you were to ask someone, they would say I'm:
Straightforward and direct, Dr. Richthofen is not a man that likes to beat around the bush. He is generally very serious and rigid, but there are times when he will loosen up, and become very fragile.
If you really must know:
Manfred Albrecht Freiherr von Richthofen was born the first of two children. Entering school, there was always something diferent about him. At a young age he was a dreamer, thinking about things even some adults never could fathom. He went through school fast, acing any test and any subject of science, from medical to the war machines. At the age of 12 his dear little sister was born. He was often seen in his home town, hand in hand with the young girl and doting upon her when his parents died of illness.

They were an unseperable pair, even taking her with when at age 16 he entered into a prestigious tech school, focusing on sciences of technology. He graduated the top of his class, and devoted his life to that of science. However, when the zombies attacked, he lost his whole family...and his dear little sister. He keeps a picture of them at a water park on his table, oft times staring at it sadly when he is alone. He doesn't get much alone time anymore. As a governor of one of the major colonies deep in the underground tunnels, his life is spent attending to citizens that stay and hide from the apocalyptic world above.
I work as:
Governor of Liberty, Scientist
Since the Winter, I carry:
A .500 Handgun, and a 12 Gauge Security Shotgun

Welcome to Liberty Station

Greetings citizens. My name is Manfred Albrecht Freiherr von Richthofen, but simply Dr. Richthofen will do, and i would like to be the first to say welcome to Liberty Station. A little history about this place. It was once known as Broadway – Lafayette St station, A subway platform located below the streets of New York City. Of course entrances to the surface have been barred shut and are inaccessible. Though if you REALLY wanted to get to the surface then we could give you access. It is your life that you are risking. As an underground society we have grown and prospered, starting from a disheveled hovel to a full fledged underground city. We have everything we need here. But not without cost. Many die to bring us the supplies we need.

Using the tunnels, we are the central hub, and trade with four other stations. to the north is the Black Station whose defenses are impenetrable due to the iron will of their citizens. It is led by the "Reds", a communistic russian group that we have a tenative trade agreement with. It would be unwise to venture in that direction. The Black Station is on hostile terms with the station to the west, Brentonia Station, who are our english allies. It seems that even in our apocalyptic world belief systems will still fight for . However, we will not intervene in this war and risk the few people we have left. To the south, we have Rhineland Station, inhabited by a German group of nomads and their goods are very valuable, as they can be quite uncommon and useful. To the east we have Kazuhira Station, who has declared themselves a peaceful station, banning weapons to all but its peace keeping and defensive forces.

Recently, the undead attacks in the tunnels have been stepping up, and supplies have started to dwindle. We have been forced to return to the surface for supplies. Most never are heard from again. But we must hope...

And survive...

You can call me Doctor

"Well, for all those born with nothing,
there are those born with everything."

They were his fathers words... Those words, though soft, had carried a harsh undertone. Pity. Hate. Disgust. He remembered that day clearly, as if it was only yesterday that the man had died during his experimentations. "Humans are shameless creatures," He had said. "They carelessly ignore any misfortune which does not befall them directly. They can--and often do--turn a blind eye to all manner of wickedness so long as it does not touch them or their kin." How true those words were... During the time in which he had said them. Oh, it was still true now, but less so, now that the human race was fighting for its very survival. It had often been thought that human nature was based around a possessive behavior, to be top dog. But when one looked at the world they were currently residing in, none could say that he wasn't anything more then lucky to be alive.

And through this attitude, Manfred Albrecht Freiherr von Richthofen created Liberty Station under the streets of New York, making it a safe haven for all traveling survivors, and a central hub for other stations to freely trade, talk, and learn about the situations at the other stations. Walking through the market section, he heard the loud cries of sellers, trading bullets and weapons, med kits and provision. The din of voices were raised as people laughed, and kids ran by, playing a game of hide and go seek or tag, since no power had been on for years. Yes, In these times, fire, gas generator, and battery lit lamps kept the lights on. Going through the Residential district, the air was much more quiet, voices lowered to almost a whisper as men and women hovered around barrel fires, swapping news and information as kids drew figures in the dirt covered floors. It saddened him to think how far a step backwards humankind had taken since the war. Destitute and broken. But...Still alive.

Dr. Richthofen arrived at his door, opening it, and shut it behind him. It was a bit larger then the other hovels around him, but that was because it was also his office. The Office of the Governor. He sat on a large chair, which was decently constructed out of murky oak beams and had a decently plush pillow to sit on. He leaned back in the roomy chair, closing his eyes for a moment, to get a short rest from the day. But no peace came to him. Glancing over at the coffee table next to him, he reached over and lifted a picture of him with a little girl on his lap. He smiled, though it was a sad smile. Cheryl, his beloved little sister was no longer alive. He had lost her in the nuclear winter that followed the attack on U.S. soil. How he missed her gentle laughter... He looked to the bed, where the last memory of her remained. A plush little teddy bear, one of its eyes missing. He placed, with gentle ease, the photo back on the table, rising once again to go out among the people of Liberty Station. His City.
