"Discrimination implies the incapacity to deal with the difference”
Today, we live in a stereotyped world. We can see it, not only in random things as style and clothing, but also in the way of thinking of each one.
Each and every year lots of “tendencies” come out, driven by personalities which the whole world considers “important”, and we just go and accept it, sometimes not even thinking about it, forgetting that we must have a logical reason to agree with some ideals.
… and what have we done to IDENTITY, in this process? Is it the number of an Identity Card the only thing that makes us different?
Some of our people decided to sail against the waves and leave their mark of difference. All of them stand out, but the fact is that even that some can reach the point of changing the world (or just being accepted as equal, as well), most of them are just turned into the stereotypes favorite victims, being ridiculed and humiliated for their ideals.
In my regard, stereotypes mock the ones who can’t fit in their ideals because they are afraid of being humiliated themselves. Maybe, in their most intimate inside, they also support the way of thinking of the ones they discriminate, but they feel like they can’t stand by them, or else they will be discriminated too.
We are giving up changing because we fear the consequences of this position. So, we train ourselves (and our children) not to accept whatever doesn’t fit in our way of thinking, making us incapable of dealing with something that can, maybe, lead us to a better life … or just make us see that the world is smarter and richer as more points of view exist.
