so,Im not POSITIVE but I think my 17 year old neighbor might be having a net relationship with someone who is 21,and they have no mutual friends, they met on myspace,he lives 2k miles away, and she said he plans to go to the same collage, but shouldnt someone who is 21 know what collage theyre going to,and he shouldnt be going after someone who is only 17 (just turned 17 today) the reason Im not completely sure is she said "I love my S man" well, the guy on her top friends is named "simon" he does not have a pic on his profile, and he only has 2 friends on there, her and the black eyed peas, shes always been very grown up,but Im worried,so I dont know if I should talk to my mom about it and see what she says,or do nothing, however if anything else I could send a letter (anonymously so she doesnt get ticked at me) to her school,so they could let her parents know,I just dont know what to do D:

i dont mind large age gaps, i was 19 or 20 (dont feel like doing the math) when i met my fiance and he was 26. but i am agaisnt adults being with people under 18.
but just because your 21 doesnt mean you know what school your going to, i still dont know what i want to do for a career so i took a break from college so i wouldnt sit there waisting my money
i would talk to your mom and see what she thinks

I agree with Shanna.. being 21 does not make you an adult and with her being 17 it is nothing illegal.. as long as it is in the usa.. i dont know about overseas or anything like that.. but younger people will fall in love alot and fall right back out of it.. if you are truely worried about her then speak to your mom or even the (cannot think of the word.. person at school that helps you with your 'feelings') sometimes things are not that easy to handle on your own and you need an outside sourse to help you out a little bit.. anyway.. best of luck to you and your neighbor..

I don't find that to be a HUGE age gap. The only thing about this that seems off to me is that she says she "loves" someone she has never met. If they're going to be hanging out in public places at the college, it doesn't seem to creepy to me. One of my good friends is a guy I met online and dated for a bit but decided there was no chemistry there and we just stayed friends. And he isss, 25 I think, so, almost the same age gap.

Im 4 years younger then my husband and I met him on Myspace. In most states 17 is consider legal age for a girl and even he being 21 he might not know what school he attends. LOL. I would just let her do what she wants and watch it for a bit. Or you can even talk to her about getting to know him in person before they consider dating. Talking to her parents might cause friction about friends with you two and talking to your mom about might cause the same thing.

well,I wouldnt care about the age gap,my ex is 10 years older than me,but shes still a kid, even if she doesnt act like it,and it worries me that he might be some creepy guy who like...goes after underage girls,I dont care saying that she loves him, because I love people online, but,I dont think they have known eachother long, and it just worries me X_x (Kyle are you thinking of councilor? I dont go to the school there anymore,so I dont think I could)
