I thought we should have a thread where guardies can post their ideas for makeup looks/tricks that they know. I've seen some pretty cool ones over the years during competitions and the like, and i thought it would be cool to share.

Basically, what i do is look at my uniform for inspiration and pick the three main colors, a base and two accents.
Since the main colors of my uniform are blue, gold, and black, i use those. black would be the base/main color, or color A, and blue and gold would be used as accents, or B and C respectively.
See my next post for the next step!

So, now that we have the base colors, now it's time to start applying them! The overall goal is a bold, dramatic look, so be generous with the amount you apply.
1. Apply your usual foundation/ concealer.
2. Start with your base color/ Color A (for me, it's a black powder shadow) and apply it lashline to crease. I suggest using an eyeshadow brush to make the edges nice and crisp. It also helps to hold your eyelid down with your other hand so you can get in all the little nooks and crannies. 3. Now take your first accent color/ Color B (for me, it's a shimmery light blue shadow) on your brow bone. Blend it a little with your base color, so there's a smooth transition from lid to brow. As for trying to decide which accent to put where, it's up to you. Experiment with different combinations to find one you like.
4. Now take your second accent color/ Color C (mine's a gold cream shadow) and line your top lashline with it. Wing it out a little at the corners, following the shape of your eye. For this step, it might help if you get it in the form of liquid liner, cream liner, cream shadow, or an eyeliner pencil. This will make it easier to line your eye with. If you're using cream shadow or liner, it also helps to use an angled eyeliner brush, as well as making a few practice strokes on your hand to soften the cream a little bit.
5. Now, take a cotton ball and wipe away any flecks that might have fallen under your eyes during this process.
6. Line inside your lower lashline with a corresponding color, black is usually your best bet.
7. Dab a little bit of white eyeshadow on your inner corners. This really make your eyes look big and open.
8. Coat your upper lashes with your usual mascara.
9. Put some blush on the apples of your cheeks, going up towards your temples. To find the apples of your cheeks, smile. The apples are the part that sticks up. As for what color to use, pinch your cheeks hard, and find a color that matches/ is similar to the color when your cheeks are flushed.
10. Put on your usual lip stick/gloss/stain! I recommend using a lip stain though, since it lasts longer. As for what color, I usually use a bold red color. Depending on what colors you use, yours may be different, but the overall effect should make your lips stand out from the rest of your face.
11. This step isn't required, but if you have makeup setting spray, it definitely doesn't hurt to use it.
And you're done! Now go out there and do your show!

holy crap!!! (btw love the thread idea biggrin ) you get to PICK what makeup you wear??? i'm jealous!!! at the beginning of my freshman year, we all had to wear this med. darkness blue eyeshadow (called blue blazes) from lashes to brows. and we all had to wear stripper-bright red lipstick (wet n wild 509A) luckily, that year we went on a trip (w/o normal uniforms) and we wore browns for eyeshadow there, and the coach decided she liked those better (thank god!) so we've been wearing "browns" for the past 3 years lol except for winter, when you'd think we'd have way more epic makeup with cool colors and whatnot...yeah no. my coach is MORMON! i have nothing about Mormons, but really?? we've worn "browns" for 3 out of 4 winter shows. my sophomore year was the only interesting year when we had to do smokey eyes (with greys and blacks and my friend kept trying to say you need colors for smokey eyes but wtf do i know i had no clue how to do them in the first place hahahaha) but anyways, i'm jealous of getting to wear cool makeup like that. brown is so boring!!!

We did smokey-eye with extended eyeliner lines, but crazy amounts of glitter and blush on our faces, then glued rhinestones on our foreheads and noses, mimiking an extended line of our eyebrows.
Note: the bedazzler NEVER should go on your face.
