I'll go ahead and say now, I am annoyed by this problem I have. It's on my head, and it flakes very easily. Now don't get me wrong, it's not like if I just move it slightly it starts to snow. But since this is a Health-related guild, I was wondering if anyone can give me any advice to keep the dandruff to a minimum. Dandruff isn't really attractive to other people, I'm sure. I use Head and shoulders daily but it just doesn't work. I also used T-Gel, a "therapeutic" shampoo. I read that Tar helps get rid of dandruff, and T-Gel had alot of it, but it won't work either. Is there any suggestions anyone can give me?

I have the same issues as well. So far what I've done is not wash my hair every day and do it every few days, unless circumstances call for otherwise.
Also, you can use some oils or some type of scalp moisturizer to not make the scalp so dry.

I use T-Gel too. It lasts for about a day, then my hair is right back to flaking.
Using a conditioner after the T-Gel is supposed to help. Also, hot showers can dry out your scalp. You're supposed to keep the water lukewarm when you wash your hair.

I've recently come to know that the product Head & Shoulders was banned previously because when anyone stops using it, dandruff appears and you're forced to use it again. I wouldn't rely on that product. Try some medically tested product or something else.

From what I've heard, this is a great product, though the smell isn't well known for being very pleasing.

they do sell special product for that but my advice besides that is to try and keep your head from drying out, or more so in general try not to do things to hair that will cause your scalp to dry. try using more moisture based conditioners/shampoo's. and i would avoid putting beauty products in your hair such as dye's and hair spray.

Go to a dermatologist to make sure that's it's just dandruff. I've always had problems with my head itching and flaking, but I went to the dermatologist and found out that it was actually pscoriasis. If you for some reason can't go to one, look in drug stores or wal-mart for shampoos that are for psoriasis. See if that works. (:

it does that to me too. dandruff runs in my family (on my dad's side. he has psoriasis), and when we flake (especially us girls) it's christmas in July, and to make it worse, we all love black. i've also tried head and shoulders, t-gel, selsen blue, and throroughly washing my hair (people were telling me it was leftover shampoo). dermatologist or doctor could be the way to go. it could be seborric dermatitis (which causes the skin to flake) or something else. everyone else gave better advice than i could of, and they're giving me ideas too (thanks everyone)

Alright I've been running around lately and I actually found the source of it. Well... source(s). 1. I turn the cold water knob only slightly, and the hot water full blast, therefor leading to my scalp being extremely dried out. I've learned NOT to do this lol 2. AquaDuelist had said that Head & Shoulders is not a product to rely on. And what he says is actually true. Believe it or not, I'm using Axe Drandruff control and it actually works pretty well.
To this day, I have yet to have a single flake fall off my head. (Of course I'm exaggerating, maybe one flake every few hours). I want to thank you guys for helping me out. Now I don't have to keep freaking out every time I itch and think I have lice.
Again, thank you <3
