I was playing in a pathfinder campaign yesterday when the ranger's companion (A wolf) defeated and knocked down a tengu. Given that the wolf was somewhat untrained, I was of the thought that the wolf would continue and eat the tengu.

The big question was whether or not the Ranger (being a chaotic good type) would stop him. The Tengu was more animal than man, but it was still sentient.

We decided for ourselves that the best course of action would be for the Ranger to shoo the wolf away, but give him a treat for being a good puppy.

I'm curious to think of what other people's actions and takes on that situation would be though.

Just think of the Tengu as a Kenku and the wolf as a Fallen Puppy.

As a CN Druid (NE on occasion :3) I always just let nature run its course in those situations. Its dead, what good is a body going to be anyways? Let the wolf eat and thats one meal you don't have to pay for. You could be a real freak and pack up the extra meat to. I had a Dire Elephant I did that with in an Epic level campaign. A solid died of finely chopped meats made from its victims, but that was a NE Druid with Chaotic tendencies. (Until the DM called me out and I had to atone ...)
