The new event game has just opened! heart
I tried playing it... twice... and I died early on both times. This game is HARD!!! It seems like the key to success is being able to hunt effectively, using as little ammo as possible. I can't seem to win! Who else has played it. Does anyone have any tips or comments on it? I'm not very fond of this particular event. xp

blaugh I haven't even HEARD of it until you mentioned it, but your description of it sounds a lot like the old Oregon Trail game that we used to play in gifted class when I was in elementary school. (Believe it or not, I used to be gifted. Now? Not so much. rolleyes ) In Oregon Trail, the person in the #2 slot for your party ALWAYS died (one time it was me! rofl ), so eventually, after you played it enough, you learned to put the name of someone you really couldn't stand in that slot. wink

It kind of reminded me of Oregon Trail, but this is WAY harder. You are given 50 ammo to hunt with, and the animals/monster/vegetables move so fast that you end up wasting quite a few bullets in each hunting trip. Plus, you have to hit them multiple times before they disappear off the screen. Then, your crew member's (not to mention your own) health deteriorates quickly, so you have to rest often, which takes a whole lot of food. I usually end up dying because of lack of food, and I don't think I'm getting any where near the goal. Try playing it. The sticker will take you there. But, I'm wondering if this event is even worth the effort. Read the stuff in the event forum if you don't believe me.

Nevermind! rofl I just realized that I was going about it the wrong way. I have played this game 17 times, and won with Louie (very hard), Edmund (easy), Sam (easy), and Diedrich (very easy) so far. I wasted a lot of time on Louie (his item is a cool cape, so I had to have it). I have not played with Carl yet. Here are some handy tips for winning those event items! heart
1) Kill off all of your crew members except for one, ASAP!!! There only has to be one person alive at the end to deliver the cargo, so you don't have to waste food keeping your crewmates alive. I know it sounds insensitive, but your crewmates aren't real. 2) Hunt as much as you can in the forest before you go into the desert. 3) After you kill an animal or vegetable when hunting, make sure that you move your targeting thing over the food, or else you won't collect it in the end. I learned this the hard way. 4) When in the ocean, kill crabs. They give you 50 pounds of food each. When in the forest, kill buffalo. They give you a ton of food, but I can't remember exactly how much. Veggies give you next to nothing. 5) Rock puppies, tumble weeds, and clouds don't give you any food. However, robots give you pizza. *shrugs* 6) Make sure that you keep your rations on filling, and your speed on average if you want to stay alive. 7) Sneak past the vampires. cool Fight the pirates. 9) Let the ghost show you how to die. (no one dies, but you get speed/luck/health/etc bonuses) 10) Trade loot for luck in the desert. Luck helps alot in this game. 11) Don't cut down the tree. 12) Remove the bird on the mast. 13) Settle disputes with Rock, Paper, Scissors. 14) Don't pull the rope. 15) Make sure you load up on ammo in the beginning. Make sure you have at least 100 ammo. You can hunt for food. 16) Take the fastest airship. You don't have to worry about carrying as much food when you only have one passenger. Plus, who wants this game to take longer than it has to take? 17) Drink the nymph's potion, but give the potion that start with an E to your captain. 1 cool When you have to choose between ammo and food, choose ammo. 19) If you ever have the choice whether to kill a crew member or not, kill them. It will save you food. 20) If Carl is your captain, DON'T KILL THE DEER when you hunt!!!! Carl with murder your entire crew instantly if you do.
And for Alvinette.... slot #1 tends to die off first. Slot #2 is the one that will go on living the longest. This game is half about the choices you make, and half sheer luck. This isn't the best Gaia event ever, but there are some cool prizes. 3nodding
