I've been on Gaia on and off for 6 years now... since when have you had to BUY a key to open a magical treasure chest?
I feel like an old person with a DVD player... sad

Those the the "special" chests that give you cash shop items, so you have to pay for a key to maaaaaybe get something worth more.
You don't have to pay to open the random event items (golden trunks, blue giftboxes, etc) though.
