Do you consider the color guard to be a part of the band? Why or why not? (No flame wars, please...) 3nodding

Well, we don't have a color guard, so no. razz
My high school band did though. And I'm pretty sure everyone considered them part of the band. We hung out together and everything.

yup because they are just as active and responsible with the music (being the visual aspect of it) and the show as the rest of the band plus usually when a band isnt very good neither is the Color Guard sooo yup

Yes, the color Guard is a Big part of the band. Their choreography adds a visual element of emotion to the drill that goes hand-in-hand with the music.

Of course they are!
Well...except sort of not in the concept of our show this year, because the entire concept is a struggle between the guard and the band. Sooo they can't be the band and the guard at the same time if we're struggling! xd
But yeah, in all seriousness, they are. :] I love our color guard. They're amazing, and we'd be nothing without them.

I think color guard is part of the band. They do just as much work and we do. Sure our color guard sucks and we don't like them as much but they're still part of the band.

The colorguard is like the main visual for the shows. They help people understand the music more. This year we are doing Q and we really need their help. All 3 of them.

i heart everyone who commented!!! mrgreen at my high school, "outsiders" aren't allowed in the band room (cuz theres waaayyyy too much expensive stuff in there...) but we (the guard obviously) are, and thats my usual argument for people who say we're not in band. and we wear the same jackets. and have the same practices. and get just as many water breaks (aka none) even though we're dancing all over the place and they're just marching down the street wink my own brother used to say that when he was in middle school (where they don't really think so...the guard and band are very separated there for some reason...) and i would get very angry evil but he's a sophomore now so i think he figured it out...

Sure they are, even though we practice separately most of the time and I don't really like most of them (3 of them are good friends though. Two even marched the year before).
Guard gets their own room at my school. X3
