please help, my computer isn't displaying japanese properly.

everything is in funny boxes with 4 letter/numbers in them. i don't know what's going on. i added japanese to languages i'm pretty sure. ummm...could someone help me with all the technical stuff so i can actually read and post here.

Install the East Asian Language Pack via your settings and that should fix the boxes. If you need anymore help feel free to PM me and I'll take you through it step by step.

Best to try to figure out yourself first though.
