I imagine it would be bad for Texas seeing as how the U.S military would come in and kick the s**t out of you.

Are you sure? Texas has been its own country once before and it was fine, and I doubt the government would mind one of the most Republican states leaving the U.S. since of course most of it is democrat anyway.

Texas was barely a country. It wanted to be annexed by the United States anyway, AND most of the country is Republican NOT Democrat.

They would probably get their beef from Argentina or Uruguay and no offense to anyone but I really don't like Texas.

To each their own but I moved to Central Texas in 1995 and I love it here. Do you know anything about TX or are you going on what you've seen in movies put together by a bunch of blithering idiots... I mean blithering liberals (same thing). Whatever, I hope you're not judging TX on what you've seen in movies because most of it's pure and utter BS!

Your question is a good one. There are several possibilities: If Texas were to secede, then we might have to worry about the military or we might have the military on our side. It would depend on the Generals of all the branches of the military. One thing is for certain, all hell would break loose! It's possible the Generals would refuse to fight the people of TX, and if so, they would have to declare marshal law and take over Washington, DC. That's highly unlikely, but of course we're just surmising here.

The next possibility is that all the Generals would be loyal to their Commander-in-Chief, in which case Texas would be left in ruins, so again, let's hope we don't seriously consider it.

Another possibility is that some Generals would agree with Texas and some would follow the Commander-in-Chief and you know who that is. So, if all the Generals didn't agree, then the military would be split and again, all hell would still break loose. It would come down to another Civil War, so I pray to God we don't secede and that we manage to take back the House and Senate in November. At least then Obama would be a lame duck (he's already pretty lame!) and except for his veto pen, his power would be extremely limited for the next 2 years!

That's obviously an attempt at sarcasm, or wit or something, although it falls a bit short of either. I believe movies do indeed influence how you feel about Texas, otherwise you'd probably state exactly why you feel the way you do.
