Someone rear-ended M at a stop light this morning. He's totally fine, but his car is totaled. It took me years to get over my fear of cars, and now I've spent the day freaking out over the fact that I could have lost someone that I love again. And now I'm going to be stupidly worrying every time he leaves the house. UGH. DX
I have no point. I just wanted to vent because it's giving me a headache. And I guess I should say that I'll probably be scarce around here for a while, because we have no extra money to buy another car, and something's got to give.

I already smother you like two seconds ago, but I'll do it again. -smothers-
This week really has been completely crappy. No one is happy. I'm sorry I gave you my bad day. DX As I've said, I'm just really glad M is okay. <3 Beat up some people for the money for the car.

It's understandable to be upset for a few days after the accident. And even to think some really crazy thoughts, like, "We'll never own another car again!" But after those days have passed, try to think about how he was okay, and how many days he'd been driving that *nothing* happened. Anything it takes to ease your fears.
Also, be sure to lecture him about wearing his seatbelts, etc, even take some classes on defensive driving and car safety. Think about buying various car safety accessories, like a window breaking hammer and first-aid kit. Just knowing that you've got tools for every worst-case scenario will bring you more comfort than you can imagine.

That's horrid. Poor M, & you also. At least he's okay, the world would be a less mysterious place without him.

I'm glad M's alright but that sucks! Try not to worry that much though, he'd been driving for ages without anything happening. Hope you feel better soon though sad -hands over hot chocolate and a blankie-

I know how you feel. I was rear-ended some months ago and I felt so sick. Car wasn't too badly damaged, but it's more the shock factor.
However, it will get better. Lychee gave the best advice of just taking it one day at a time.
I'm just glad no one was hurt.

Woah that sucks! Most people don't consider cars as a deadly device. I don't think there is anything wrong in fearing something that can be so dangerous. Don't push yourself to recover. Take the time you need then go about driving again. Otherwise you could be a danger to yourself and other road users. My sister took a long time to be able to drive again after she had a car accident. It is a pretty traumatic event. :/
