New Firefly comic coming soon!

[Quixotic Faye]

So a new Firefly comic (unfortunately not the one based on Shepherd Book as promised long ago) is coming out soon. Patton Oswalt, comedian and that guy who played Joel Mynor on that other Joss Whedon show Dollhouse, is also a big fan of Firefly and convinced Joss to let him write a story in the Firefly 'verse. It's based around Wash before he becomes part of the Serenity crew, so it's not going to feature all of our favorite crew, but it's nice to see a new comic come out. I can't wait!

Hopefully this one won't suffer from the delay that has plagued the Shepherd's Tale comic. Dark Horse gave a new release date finally for November 2010... which is a three years after the original date.

Patton Oswald + Firefly is so awesome I'm amazed it took this long for us to get there.

Maybe if Firefly ever gets a chance to come back as a toon (like the original Star Trek did), Oswald could voice a character? Maybe a long lost brother to Wash? Hey, a girl can dream. whee

I have all three comics that they have written, and I must say they're wonderful!

In The Shepherd's Tale however, Joss took on a new illustrator, a guy named Zack.

In my opinion, I liked the original guy better...but that's just me.
