Every one tells me hes 29 but in the manga I remember it being 30 if anyone can find proof that he's 29 I'd be surpised.
And isn't Hughes 5 years older than Roy?

Another thing to keep in mind is what year he was born in. Cuz the story takes place I think in the lates '10's, early 20's.

http://fma.wikia.com/wiki/Mustang according to the wikia his date of birth is 1885, and he is 29 - 30. Hughes is 29 at death in 1914, he was born the same year as Mustang. So according to this and the date of Roy's supposed birth and Hughes death date the story takes place between 1914 and 1916. But do keep in mind this is just my speculation.
