I'm running out of ideas, so I thought maybe one of you might have an idea.
When it started A few days ago, I woke up to find my computer off. Occasionally it overheats and shuts down. However, I didn't see it turn off, so I might have gotten a blue screen. Anyway, my internet hasn't worked right since.
What is going on with my internet. Basically, I can go to most sites, but it takes me lots of tries to get any one page to load. Some sites are easier to load than others. I can load Google correctly the first time I try, just about every single time I go to that site. Gaia is kind of half and half. The pages never finish loading enough to show the footer bad. In addition, I usually end up having to click on a link several times for it to register, and I have to reload several times to get everything on the page to display enough to be of use. Then, there are some sites that won't work no matter what. The glow timer is one of these sites that won't load no matter how many times I refresh the page. I'm not sure why my internet is so picky, but this is what it is doing. In addition, the same thing happens regardless of which browser I use.
What I have tried I have shut down AVG, Zone Alarm, and Ad-Aware because I thought that thought that some definition could be making the pages not load. I have done a virus scan. I have defragged my computer. I ran a check disk (chkdsk /r), but I wasn't in the room when it finished, so I don't know if it said anything of importance. I reset the router. I tried doing a system restore, but it failed. However, to be fair, my computer hasn't been able to do a system restore in a while, so I think there's something up with my computer that's messing with it. I have also tried adjusting browser settings and privacy settings. If you can think of anything, let me know.

you can only have one virus protection and one ad ware protection first off. Anymore and they cancel each other out. So take care of that issue first. Then run another scan, Clear you cookies in the browser, and if your using fire fox grab something else. fire fox was messing up on me massively recently so i'm now using google chrome which is working wonderfully. After all that restart your computer and try again. If it's still messing up you will more then likely need to put a new operating system on there. I use to be a comp tech for gateway and emachine, this is valid. Wish I was there to make it better though. Anywho good luck. IT does sound like a virus though or trojan

I have one anti-virus program, one firewall, and one adware program. Maybe the adware program is interfering with the anti-virus. I'll try disabling it and see if it works. I really hope it does. I'm getting a bit frustrated with my computer. The biggest problem I have with it is that I can't do my online Spanish exercises for class on my computer.

are you running windows? Sometimes it helps to run your virus scan in safe mode.
I use trendmicro in safe mode with networking andit usually picks up viruses straight out.
