Did you just see the new manga? Johnny Gambino is dead! eek I didn't think that they could kill off a main character in Gaia, especially Gambino. And isn't he supposed to be the most powerful man in Gaia? He defeated Jack a few years ago, and this last Halloween, Jack took down two gods (the overseer and the sentinel). I mean, Gambino is hardcore. Anyway, I am glad to see that they are finally getting on with the storyline and not just using the manga for holidays and events. The whole thing with Ian a few years ago was the best part of the storyline. I hope that this will follow suit. Btw, has anyone else noticed that they stopped coloring the manga?

I haven't yet read the manga update, but being a soap-opera fan since before I could walk and talk, the first thing that hit me is how much like a soap opera the Gaia manga is, and how I would totally not be surprised if the whole thing was either a ruse (e.g. he faked his death for some reason or other--and on soap operas this is somehow possible even when you actually SEE the character die onscreen), or else he'll be secretly resurrected and go into hiding for a while (maybe even with a totally altered face). I know it's a long shot, and I know that mangas aren't exactly like soaps, but still...I've seen some supremely soapy manga before, so like I said, the only thing that would surprise me is if they DIDN'T bring him back. As for all the other farfetched ways for him to still be alive, well...anything's possible in soaps and manga. I guess I'll just have to read the manga myself and see if I still think a soap-opera style resurrection might possibly be in the works somewhere along the road. And like I said, it totally wouldn't surprise me.
EDIT: Okay, I just read the manga. But I'm like you, Chibi; I still can't believe that they'd just kill off the main character! Dang! Something big is in the works, that's for sure, whether he's somehow still alive or if he really is dead. We'll just have to see. As I said before, anything's possible in soaps and manga...

You know how Gambino made that formula to resurrect the dead, right? Well, maybe he could be resurrected as a grombie using his own formula. Either that or one of the good vampires (Louie and Ian) could bite him and turn him into the living dead. Somehow, I find the grombie thing more likely knowing Gambino's history with the Van Helsons. sweatdrop

But what's-his-name said that no human being can kill Gambino. So this must be something even more insidious than minor vampires and magical holiday mascots! It has to be some primary god or something. Unless, it's Gino himself or something, or some supernatural force, or . . . he's not really dead! blaugh Soap opera twist, right Alvinette!
I'm glad the manga is updating, too. But I have a bad feeling that they will use this storyline to draw in a new event, or at least an EI. confused
Last time we heard from Gino, he was sailing off into the sky with the now-mortal Sentinel and Overseer. So hm.
And yeah, I noticed they stopped coloring the manga. 'Sallright with me if that means it can be published more regularly.

All the manga I read is black and white anyway, so it's not really that much of a loss; but still, I do miss the colors.
The manga to advertise an EI? eek NOooooo! crying I want manga just for the storyline's sake. If it ties in occasionally with events, that's fine. I was just getting tired of the isolated stories centered around the events.
The sentinel and the overseer aren't my favorite NPCs in the world. There should be a rule that all of the manga must involve Ian. rofl xd heart But yeah, I see what you mean about Gino. Maybe his glowing crotch can resurrect his dad. rofl rofl rofl

Think about it! The overseer's powers are now located in Gino's crotch! He has crotch powers! rofl
Btw, do you have a favorite NPC? (Of course you know that I'm the Ian fangirl.) blaugh
*Edit - I just checked the marketplace to see how much the SDPlus #36 Ian Doll (Ian after he found out we was a vampire) was going for. That's when I noticed that my SDPlus #1 Classic Ian Doll is going for 3.5 million gold. eek I bought it for 185k, so yeah... inflation.... sweatdrop I'm half tempted to sell it and buy a Picolotrosso's Urn, a Gogh Reed, a Reve Rouille, and a Alruna's Rose. It would cover all of those. But I LOVE my Ian! crying I may regret this later, but I think I'm going to hang onto my beloved Ian doll.

Picolitrosso's Urn would come in handy, though . . . ^^

I'm wearing my Ian doll! xd It lets me put a leaf in my hair. The other one (that I don't own) is the vampire Ian doll. It gives you cute little fangs. 3nodding I want that want too. heart
I love the classy items. Picolotrosso's Urn will be my next big quest. Right now, I'm working on saving up enough gold for the St. Patrick's Day prizes (for the guild), and I'm trying to save up for the GO Phones. I seriously regret not buying them when they were cheap.

Picolotrosso's urn is beautiful. It's one of my top items that I want on Gaia.

I got my GO Phones. Now I am about 10k/700k in my quest for Picolotrosso's Urn. This is going to take a while. sweatdrop
I don't believe he's dead either. Or if he is dead, he won't stay dead. But, if Gaia actually does decide to kill him off, I'm going to be really ticked off.

Like I said before, I've watched waaaaay too many soap operas to believe he's going to be dead for long. The key to immortality is to move to a soap town! Nobody really dies on soaps unless the actor dies. Otherwise, all the "dead" characters just keep coming back. And coming back. And coming back. I have no reason to believe that Gaia storyline is going to be any different. I mean, half the time it reads like an episode of Passions! blaugh

I STILL can't help but think it's an elaborate hoax. Then again, it's entirely possible that I'm wrong. Goodness knows I've been wrong before! blaugh But I really wanna see a soap-opera-esque "he's-not-really-dead" twist. *pouts*

Did you see the Gaia blog's "secret" pictures of the Gambino memorial service? blaugh They're really milking this for all it's worth! They were all dressed in black and everything!
