Ok I had to ask this. What does everybody think of the series Percy Jackson and the Olympians. I just recently finished it and I'm looking forward to seeing the movie just to see how different it is from the book. I have been completely obsessed with this series since I first realized it was a series.
My favorite characters are probably Chiron, Poseidon, Annabeth, Grover, and, of course, Percy. Chiron is just so different from his family and Poseidon is so kind and patient. I think I definitely associate with all of these characters. Each one is a different side of my personality. As a question, who are your favorite characters and why?
I'm sorry. These probably aren't the best questions. Feel free to add your own. I just had to ask because I am still partially obsessed. >^.^<

Just so everyone knows, this completed series is by Rick Riordan, and the books are: The Lightning Thief The Sea of Monsters The Titan's Curse The Battle of the Labyrinth The Last Olympian
"What would you have to do that was so horrible you got sewn into Hades underwear?" and "It was a little humiliating to be slower than a tree" are 2 of the many hilarious quotes from The Lightning Thief. This book caused me to laugh so much! It was also very clever how the author used the legends and relationships of the Greek gods. The film wasn’t nearly as amusing, but I suppose that - given the fact that it could not convey Percy’s thoughts and unique way of describing things - that isn’t a surprise.
It's difficult to decide if the first or the fourth book in the series (The Lightning Thief or The Battle of the Labyrinth) is my favourite. BotL had as much excitement and suspense as all of the books, but it also had a bit more drama than the rest regarding the characters' relationships, and the ending scene at Percy's house was so hilarious that I read the whole scene twice! rofl
Whenever I reach the final book in a series I'm always worried that the last climax won't be exciting enough (because the climax of the final novel should always be more exciting than the climax of all of the previous ones), or will be too cheesy, but The Last Olympian had a good, strong ending. It was also full of all of the action and suspense that all of Percy's adventures are. Fans of the series should be pleased with the end; I know that I was!
My favourite characters are easily Percy and Nico. Percy cracks me up, and Nico is creepy AND adorable, which is a combination that I never knew was possible. heart They also both kick major arse with their powers! I actually don’t like Annabeth; it greatly annoys me that it her took her so long to realise that Percy is WAY better than Luke.
I'd recommend this series to ANYONE that likes comedic, action-packed children's fantasy books! heart

I have to admit I have only read the first novel and I really enjoyed it. It was quick and easy read and extremely fun. It got my little sister reading again, which I think is absolutely wonderful. I love the way the Greek pantheon is used in the series and the persona's given to the gods, goddesses and their children.

This has probably become one of my favorite series. I'm not looking foward to the movie though: Riptide is not a click-it pen!!!
At any rate, my favorite characters would have to be Percy, Grover, and Apollo. I'm a great lover of a good laugh, so this makes sense. Percy and Grover are victims of circumstance, but they keep you laughing through it. And Apollo, well, is absolutely awful at poetry and he's really full of himself. It's amusing somehow.... sweatdrop

Okay I read this comic before reading the first book, and I swear, once you've read Myth, you never look at Greek gods the same way again. I could barely picture the gods the way they were described because of this webcomic.
Fortunately, It didn't really matter. I loved the book anyway. I'm waiting for my little brother to finish the second book, so I can continue as well.

I am really happy to announce that I have read the first book of Rick Riordan's new series that goes along with Percy Jackson and the Olympians!!! It is an amazingly good book that does tend to get confusing because the point of view goes between 3 different characters. This new series builds onto the plot that Percy Jackson and the Olympians started. I recommend it to any fan of Riordan's first series on Greek myths. 3nodding heart (One of my friends who just borrowed the book from me told me today that she enjoys the comedic relief and references outside the story.)
