Here are the many ingenius inventions of the Imperial Japanese Navy, and Army. Including their crazy need for efficient, yet light weight vehicles such as tanks, carriers, battleships, and planes! Even most of the weapons were made to be light weight!

The Type 97 Chi-Ha(Primary Japanese Battle Tank)

User Image

This Tank was used as the primary offensive Tamk for the Japanese armament during the second World War. It has a small barrel, several machine gguns, a Flame thrower, and a small body. It was built to do one thing well, and that was to take out infantry. This was the early model and was not that good at fighting other tanks.

The Type 99(Light-Machine Gun)

User Image
This lightweight machine gun was used as the primary machine gun of the Japanese infantry during the second world war. It is thin, easy to reload, very easy to mass produce, quite customizable, and very accurate. It can have a turret mount, or long bayonet attached to it. It is very light, therefore will not slow down its user when running around. it has a decent rate of fire, and its accuracy is rather deadly. The type 99 is definately not a gun to mess around with.

This massive ship was used as Japan's primary air craft carrier design during the second world war. It was the first flat-deck Plane launching carrier built by the IJN. It is 541ft in length, and had two massive turbine engines. Traveled at speeds of 47 kilometers/hour. It survived throughout entire war, and was hit by American bombing squadron, still did not sink.

Lego Yamato (A monstrous 21ft lego reincarnation, and 1/1 sclale with lego mini-figures)

This massive ship was used as Japan's primary battle ship design during the second world war. It starred in Offense and Defense. With three super mega cannons(each has three barrels of an 18 inch shell size, 18 inch in diameter x 5.5 feet long), tons of small turrets, several Anti-Air Flak Turrets, and 410mm thick armor. Each super mega cannon has 3 individual barrells, and each cannon can look its own direction. The ship lasted all the way up to the end of the war where it was finally sunk in a desperate defensive move by the IJN. It had a total length of 862ft, and weighed 71,659 tonnes with a complete crew. The Yamato is still today known as the worlds greatest and largest battleship in history.

Fuso Class(Battleship)

User Image

Watch A Video Of The Fuso Class

The Fuso Class was a battleship design finished during 1915, as Japan 's war with Russia during the Shino-Russia-Japan war was ending. This battleship class was a new design composed by Brittish navies. Yet this was not to be the Fuso we know, for in 1933 these old battleships were updated, and modernized to become Japan's first super dreadnought(super battleship). The ship gained a new, and very distinctive coning tower, known as the Pagoda style conning tower, and armor was also increased. She also boasted a complement of twelve 10 inch artillery cannons, and a 16 five mount(5 inch guns that line the side of a ship), which were later replaced by several anti-air flak cannons.
