I certainly can't believe it. Can you? Miep Gies passed away, leaving behind her a legacy of promoting tolerance and goodwill.
By all means, talk about the second world war, Anne Frank, prosecution and whatnot.

Fascinating story... and she IS/WAS a hero, even if she didn't want to be known as such. Man, i should read those books again. smile Though to be honest, I would have figured all the adult figures in that saga would have been dead quite some time ago; I was more surprised to find that she had only recently died.
I know, she lived a long life! I think it's wonderful what she did for the family. She was the one to go back and get the diary and everything! That was a very nice ride in the car to work listening to NPR when they came out with the story. What she did makes me smile.
