Hi, I just recently joined this society and I want to get started on making some lolita stuffs really quick. First of all I dont' have the money to buy anything and so I have to make my own. My idea was starting out with the accessories first because they would be easier than creating an entire dress (and less supplies are needed too!). So I've been trying for ages to make a mini hat, but I want it to look quite professional in the end. I have a bit of black stiff felt fabric left, and I plan to use it for the hat.
Now I tried sewing many times but the tip always come out funny when I flip it inside out. The quality I'm going for is like the one in this because they look quite sturdy and has a touch of quality to it. I never used fusible adhesive or know anything about it, so it would be really nice if anyone can tell me an alternative or a substitute for it.
If I had to sew it completely then I want to know how to you make a perfect little circle for the top where one side doesn't poof out. A flat surface or a rounded surface doesn't matter, I just want to know how to sew it correctly. This is an example of a beautifully flat and perfect circled top. This and this have the per rounded shape at the top I'm looking for in my hat. I only know how to stitch and use the invisible stitch since I'm very new to sewing anything at all, which should be obvious that I don't have a sewing machine either... Any guidance on sewing the tip would be greatly appreciated, and I may even scan in some of my GLB scans in return of the kindness.
I found this one off somewhere and would like to know if anyone can translate it; at least the part to get the overal hat's shape. It seems that this and this relate to it as well. Sadly it's in Japanese, which makes all the harder for me to understand. Also I'm curious as to what fabric this person used for the hat.

Also the Japanese GLB instructions are confusing even with Batty Chan's translation help. So I'm hoping that most of the help doesn't refer to them because I just fail in understanding them. I'm seriously on my knees and begging for a mini hat because I want it that bad. Any help is much loved and returned in some way.

Alright, so a friend decided to help me with the hat on this. We're going off the the instructions for the mini hat in the scan I listed above. I think I understand everything, but I'm really confused on the 2nd step where the hat's crown and tip is shown. By the way I am making the mini top hat; not the other hat on the diagram.
I've cut out the patterns, but the tip is really confusing. Seeing the diagram the tip ain't cut into a half circle like on the pattern sheet. It's a complete circle. Therefore I used two of the semicircles (highlighted in dark pink on the pattern sheet) and made myself a circle. To say the least it ain't a circle, but an oval if one looks at it really carefully.
Anyway, I have already made the crown, and I'm just wondering what am I doing wrong with the tip. The tip is HUGE compared to the circled tip my crown made. Any ideas what I am doing wrong?

I also want to know if they add seam allowance on these patterns too because usually they stay as 1 cm, but this one doesn't have any.
